Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Curvature sensing by vision and touch

open access: yes, 2017
Brain representations of curvature may be formed on the basis of either vision or touch. Experimental and theoretical work by the author and her colleagues has shown that the processing underlying such representations directly depends on specific two-dimensional geometric properties of the curved object, and on the symmetry of curvature.

Curvature‐driven Multi‐stream Network for Feature‐preserving Mesh Denoising

open access: yes
Mesh denoising is a fundamental yet challenging task. Most of the existing data‐driven methods only consider the zero‐order information (vertex location) and first‐order information (face normal).

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Discrete curvature approximations and segmentation of polyhedral surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The segmentation of digitized data to divide a free form surface into patches is one of the key steps required to perform a reverse engineering process of an object.

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Parametric study of piezoresistive structures in continuous fiber reinforced additive manufacturing

open access: yesComposites Part C: Open Access
Recent advancements in fiber reinforced additive manufacturing leverage the piezoresistivity of continuous carbon fibers. This effect enables the fabrication of structural components with inherent piezoresistive properties suitable for load measurement ...

IMPOSING CURVATURE RESTRICTIONS ON A TRANSLOG COST FUNCTION USING A MARKOV CHAIN MONTE CARLO SIMULATION APPROACH [PDF]

open access: yes
Using Kansas Farm data from 1973 to 1998, curvature restrictions are imposed on a translog cost function. Using uninformative priors with indicator functions representing distribution and inequality constraints, a Markov Chain Monte Carlo Simulation ...

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Sensitivity Analysis of Different Shapes of a Plastic Optical Fiber-Based Immunosensor for Escherichia coli: Simulation and Experimental Results

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Conventional pathogen detection methods require trained personnel, specialized laboratories and can take days to provide a result. Thus, portable biosensors with rapid detection response are vital for the current needs for in-loco quality assays. In this
