Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

The effects of sintering temperature on the mechanical properties and toughening mechanisms of carbon fibre-reinforced HfB2-SiC composites

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
HfB _2 -SiC composites were fabricated by the introduction of carbon fibres to meet the mechanical requirements, and hot pressing was the sintering route.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Analysis of Stress Intensity Factors for Curved Cracks.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series A, 1993
In this paper, the hypersingular integral equation method (HIEM) is applied to calculate the stress intensity factors of curved crack problems. The stress fields induced by two kinds of displacement discontinuity are used as fundamental solutions. Then, the problem is formulated as a system of integral equations with the singularity of the form of r-2.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

INTERACTION OF CURVED CRACK FACES IN BENDING STRIP (BEAM) UNDER INFLUENCE OF TEMPERATURE FIELD

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings, 2014
Some problems of temperature field influence on the growth inhibition of curved crack in the strip (beam) when the strip is bent in the plane by given load system (constant bending moments, uniformly distributed pressure and other) is consider.

Patterning of graphene for highly sensitive strain sensing on various curved surfaces

open access: yesNano Select, 2021
In recent years, graphene based flexible strain sensors have attracted great attention. Although various designed micro/nanostructure morphologies have been introduced to optimize the performance parameters such as sensitivity and working range, there ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...
