Experimental Investigation on the Machinability Improvement in Magnetic-Field-Assisted Turning of Single-Crystal Copper

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
The single-point diamond-turning operation is a commonly used method for ultra-precision machining of various non-ferrous materials. In this paper, a magnetic field was introduced into a single-point diamond-turning system, and magnetic-field-assisted ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Effects of coefficient of friction coupled with a deformation dependent friction model in cutting simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
A deformation dependent stick-slip based friction model is realised to better represent the contact stresses in the secondary shear zone. The instantaneous nodal limiting shear stress is implemented in a VFRIC friction model subroutine in ABAQUS\Explicit

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Effect of Cutting Ratio and Catch on Drag Characteristics and Fluttering Motions of Midwater Trawl Codend

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
The codend of a trawl net is the rearmost and crucial part of the net for selective fish catch and juvenile escape. To ensure efficient and sustainable midwater trawl fisheries, it is essential to better understand the drag characteristics and fluttering
