Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Diamond turning of soft semiconductors to obtain nanometric mirror surfaces [PDF]
Diamond cutting is a viable alternative to grinding and polishing in the fabrication of high-quality soft semiconductors. Investigation of indentation provides useful information for understanding the practical diamond cutting process of brittle ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Indirect monitoring method of tool wear using the analysis of cutting force during dry machining of Ti alloys [PDF]
In recent decades, optimize tool life is in constant evolution so many researchers have focused to analysis the tool wear by indirect monitoring (e.g. acoustic emission, cutting forces, vibrations) that plays a significant role in control and improvement

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Machinability analysis on helical milling of carbon fiber reinforced polymer
In the helical milling process, a rotating tool traverses a helical trajectory to generate a hole. In order to investigate the cutting state in helical milling of carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP), experiments were conducted with unidirectional and ...
