Estimates of the bistable region in metal cutting
The classical model of regenerative vibration is investigated with new kinds of nonlinear cutting force characteristics. The standard nonlinear characteristics are subjected to a critical review from the nonlinear dynamics viewpoint based on the ...

Cutting Forces in basic and real life wood machining processes review, COST Action E35 2004-2008: Wood machining - Micromechanics and fracture [PDF]
The data available in the literature concerning wood cutting forces permit to build models or to simulate the main wood machining processes (milling, sawing, peeling etc.). This approach contributes to a better understanding of formation of wood surfaces

Phenomenological study of chip flow/formation and unified cutting force modelling during Ti6Al4V alloy turning operations [PDF]
Mechanistic approach for prediction of cutting forces are showing limits when it comes to enhance the cutting force modelling for specific applications of high-value added and thin parts, which are made of difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Some Effects of the Cutting Fluid on Cutting Force

Influence of Cutting Interactions on Cutting Force of a Pick
Abstract Various mechanical excavators have been used for rock cutting. The cutting drum of an excavation machine normally consists of a large number of cutting picks. Accurate calculation of cutting force on individual picks is important to machine design and control. In rock cutting, cuts between picks can interact with each other.
