Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Size Effect in Metal Cutting Force
The theoretical consideration of energies consumed in metal cutting and the experimental observations on orthogonal light cutting of 4-6 brass lead to the conclusion that the size effect in cutting force can be explained as follows: with the decrease in depth of cut, the specific cutting force increases because of(1) decrease in magnitude of shear ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Discrete Cutting Force Model for 5-Axis Milling with Arbitrary Engagement and Feed Direction [PDF]
5-axis machining operations bring new challenges for predicting cutting forces. Complex tool workpiece engagements and tool orientations make it difficult to adapt 3-axis process models for 5-axis operations.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Measurement of Wood Cutting Forces during Bandsawing Using Piezoelectric Dynamometer
Optimization of wood cutting conditions can decrease the cutting forces, which directly relates to the energy consumption. The aim of this study was to measure cutting force components in bandsaw processing of green oak and beech wood at 90°-90° cutting ...

Experimental analysis and modeling of orthogonal cutting using material and friction models [PDF]
In this study, a process model for orthogonal cutting processes is proposed. The model involves the primary and secondary deformation zones. The primary shear zone is modeled by a Johnson-Cook constitutive relationship and a shear plane having constant ...

Performance of nano-structured multilayer PVD coating TiAlN/VN in dry high speed milling of aerospace aluminium 7010-T7651 [PDF]
A low-friction and wear resistant TiAlN/VN multilayer coating with TiAlN/VN bilayer thickness 3 nm has been grown by using the combined cathodic arc etching and unbalanced magnetron sputtering deposition on high speed steel tools for dry cutting of ...

As the cutting condition of generating gears such as in hobbing is very complex, the specific cutting forces are different from those of orthogonal turning. In general, the specific cutting forces in hobbing are large, since the flowing chips interfere on the tool face.
