Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDEs) are known as a super-family of enzymes which catalyze the metabolism of the intracellular cyclic nucleotides, cyclic-3',5'-adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), and cyclic-3',5'-guanosine monophosphate that are ...

Adenosine inhibited interleukin (IL)-18 production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated monocytes. The action of adenosine was antagonized by an adenosine A2A-receptor (A2AR) antagonist and was mimicked by an A2AR agonist, suggesting that the ...

Polyamines and cellular adenosine 3′ :5′-cyclic monophosphate [PDF]
The effect of polyamines on the cellular concentrations of cyclic AMP was studied. It was shown that 1 microM-spermine caused a decrease in cyclic AMP in chick-embryo heart cells, chick-embryo fibroblasts, neuroblastoma, glioma and neuroblastoma-glioma hybrid cells, grown in culture.

The Construction and Application of a New Screening Method for Phosphodiesterase Inhibitors
Phosphodiesterases (PDEs), a superfamily of enzymes that hydrolyze cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), are recognized as a therapeutic target for various diseases.

Study of Cyclic Adenosine Monophosphate Microdomains in Cells
Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) controls the physiological response to many diverse extracellular stimuli. To maintain signal specificity, cAMP-mediated signaling is finely tuned by means of a complex array of proteins that control the spatial and temporal dynamics of the second messenger within the cell.

“Cyclic nucleotides in plants: from obscure messengers to central regulators“
This review examines the historical trajectory of cyclic nucleotides (cNMPs) research in plants, a field that has encountered prolonged challenges and skepticism, contrasting sharply with its rapid validation in animal systems.
