An elasto-plastic constitutive model for rock joints under cyclic loading and constant normal stiffness conditions

open access: yes, 2014
An elasto-plastic constitutive model is introduced for rock joints under cyclic loading, considering the additional shear resistance generated by the asperity damage in the first forward shear cycle and sliding mechanism for further shearing. A series of

Compressive stress-strain relation of recycled aggregate concrete under cyclic loading

open access: yesConstruction and Building Materials, 2018
This paper has focused on the structural performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) under both cyclic and monotonic loading. RAC specimens with different recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) replacement percentages of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% were ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

The Research on the Seismic Performance of Immersion Joints Under Cyclic Loading

open access: yesShock and Vibration
Underground traffic structures can ease the traffic pressure on ground traffic and alleviate the effect of urban heat wave. The structural failure of underground structures caused by earthquakes is one of the crucial hazards in the field of urban ...

Effects of loading frequency on cyclic parameters of unsaturated Zenoz kaolin

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2016
According to the considerable effects of the loading frequency on the cyclic behaviour of the soils and lack of the sufficient and precise data in this field for the unsaturated soils, more attention needs to be paid to the experimental investigations in

Experimental response of RC columns built with plain bars under unidirectional cyclic loading

open access: yes, 2012
A large number of existing reinforced concrete (RC) buildings structures were designed and built before mid-70’s, when the reinforcing bars had plain surface and prior to the enforcement of the modern seismic-oriented design philosophies.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Advances in Research for Mechanical Characteristics of Vertically Loaded Anchors for Offshore Platforms under Cyclic Loads

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Vertically loaded anchors (VLAs) are widely used as mooring foundations in marine environments. Their working conditions typically involve deep-sea seabed, frequently subjected to cyclic loads induced by wind, waves, and currents.

Ratchet limits for a crack in a welded pipe subjected to a cyclic temperature load an a constant mechanical load

open access: yes, 2011
This paper presents the ratchet limit analysis of a pipe with a symmetric crack in a mismatched weld by using the extended Linear Matching Method (LMM). Two loading conditions are considered: i) a cyclic temperature load and a constant internal pressure;

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
