Cyclin A2 as a regulator of DNA strand stability (1047.6)

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2014
Cyclin A2 regulates replication origin firing during S‐phase. It binds to Cdk1 and Cdk2 to direct phosphorylation of proteins for DNA synthesis. The goals of this study were to determine the role of Cyclin A2 in the prevention of DNA double strand breaks (DSB). We deleted Cyclin A2 in mouse neural stem cells (NSC) using a cre/lox approach.

Observation of [CI] toward the GL 2591 and W28 A2 Molecular Outflows [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Molecular outflows associated with GL 2591 and W28 A2 were observed in the 492 GHz [CI] line. Upper limits are set on the [CI] emission in the extremely high velocity line wings. These limits are discussed in terms of wind-driven and jet-driven models of molecular outflows.

Cycline subalgebras of $k$-graph C*-algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
In this paper, we prove that the cycline subalgbra of a $k$-graph C*-algebra is maximal abelian, and show when it is a Cartan subalgebra (in the sense of Renault).

Highly Complex Magnetic Structures Resulting From Hierarchical Phase Separation in AlCo(Cr)FeNi High Entropy Alloys [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Magnetic high entropy alloys (HEAs) are a new category of high-performance magnetic materials, with multi-component concentrated compositions and complex multi-phase structures. Although there have been numerous reports of their interesting magnetic properties, there is very limited understanding about the interplay between their hierarchical multi ...

Cell Cycling Models of Carcinogenesis: A Complex Systems Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
A new approach to the modular, complex systems analysis of nonlinear dynamics in cell cycling network transformations involved in carcinogenesis is proposed. Carcinogenesis is a complex process that involves dynamically inter-connected biomolecules in the intercellular, membrane, cytosolic, nuclear and nucleolar compartments that form numerous inter ...

A2: Efficient Automated Attacker for Boosting Adversarial Training [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Based on the significant improvement of model robustness by AT (Adversarial Training), various variants have been proposed to further boost the performance. Well-recognized methods have focused on different components of AT (e.g., designing loss functions and leveraging additional unlabeled data).

Anisotropic Ejection from Active Asteroid P/2010 A2: An Implication of Impact Shattering on an Asteroid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We revisited a mass ejection phenomenon that occurred in asteroid P/2010 A2 in terms of the dynamical properties of the dust particles and large fragments. We constructed a model assuming anisotropic ejection within a solid cone-shaped jet and succeeded in reproducing the time-variant features in archival observational images over ~3 years from 2010 ...

On spectral minimal partitions II, the case of the rectangle [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
In continuation of \cite{HHOT}, we discuss the question of spectral minimal 3-partitions for the rectangle $]-\frac a2,\frac a2[\times ] -\frac b2,\frac b2[ $, with $0< a\leq b$. It has been observed in \cite{HHOT} that when $0<\frac ab < \sqrt{\frac 38}$ the minimal 3-partition is obtained by the three nodal domains of the third eigenfunction ...

Mn$_2$VAl Heusler alloy thin films: Appearance of antiferromagnetism and an exchange bias in a layered structure with Fe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Mn$_2$VAl Heusler alloy films were epitaxially grown on MgO(100) single crystal substrates by means of ultra-high-vacuum magnetron sputtering. A2 and L2$_1$ type Mn$_2$VAl order was controlled by the deposition temperatures. A2-type Mn$_2$VAl films showed no spontaneous magnetization and L2$_1$-type Mn$_2$VAl films showed ferrimagnetic behavior with a ...

Tumor suppressor and anti-inflammatory protein: an expanded view on insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE) [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
In 1994, I conjectured that insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE) acts as an inhibitor of malignant transformation by degrading insulin and thus preventing this major growth-stimulatory hormone from binding and thereby inactivating the retinoblastoma tumor suppressor protein (RB).
