Post-transcriptional regulation of cyclin A and B mRNAs by Bruno 1, Cup, and P-bodies

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Cell cycle progression relies on tightly regulated Cyclin synthesis and degradation, with Cyclins A and B activating CDK1 to drive mitosis. Dysregulation of Cyclin levels is linked to tumorigenesis, underscoring the importance of studying cyclin

Grapes(Chk1) prevents nuclear CDK1 activation by delaying cyclin B nuclear accumulation

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 2008
Entry into mitosis is characterized by a dramatic remodeling of nuclear and cytoplasmic compartments. These changes are driven by cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) activity, yet how cytoplasmic and nuclear CDK1 activities are coordinated is unclear.

Post‐Translational Modifications in Cilia and Ciliopathies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes current understanding of post‐translational modifications (PTMs) in ciliary proteins and emphasizes their roles in ciliary formation, homeostasis, and signaling. This review also discusses the implication of PTM dysregulation in ciliopathies and explores therapeutic strategies targeting PTM‐modifying enzymes.

Phosphorylation‐Dependent Stabilization of Collaborator of ARF (CARF) Suppresses Lymphoma Cell Proliferation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed that oncogene Collaborator of ARF (CARF) is closely related to B‐cell lymphoma tumorigenesis, and shares a conserved mechanism regulating protein stability with Arabidopsis Kip‐Related Protein6 (KRP6) through casein kinase 1‐mediated phosphorylation. Reduced phosphorylation led to the enhanced protein stability of CARF, resulting in

Restoration of SIRT3 Expression in Aged Mice Alleviates UUO‐Induced Renal Fibrosis by Reducing GSK‐3β Hyperacetylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SIRT3 expression is significantly downregulated in the aged kidney, rendering the kidney more vulnerable to fibrotic changes in obstructive nephropathy. By promoting GSK‐3β deacetylation, SIRT3 indirectly inhibits Wnt/β‐catenin signaling, thereby suppressing renal fibrosis.

Curcumin-like Compound Inhibits Proliferation of Adenocarcinoma Cells by Inducing Cell Cycle Arrest and Senescence

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Background: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in the male sex worldwide. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most prevalent type, accounting for 80–85% of cases, and lung adenocarcinoma is the most common and lethal NSCLC ...

Discovery of Natural Compound α‐Hederin via Large‐Scale Screening as a Targeted JAK/STAT3 Inhibitor for Ovarian Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies α‐Hederin as a potent dual JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor that blocks STAT3 activation in ovarian cancer. By disrupting STAT3‐driven transcriptional programs, α‐Hederin suppresses tumor proliferation, invasion, and EMT, while enhancing cisplatin efficacy and overcoming chemoresistance.
