Enzymatically modified isoquercitrin (EMIQ), oligoglucosyl naringenin-7-(glucose [G]), and oligoglucosyl hesperetin (H)-7-G were produced via oligoglucosylation of quercetin-3-glucose, naringenin-7-G (prunin), and H-7-G, respectively, by cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase from Bacillus macerans.

Bacillus circulans E 192 Cyclodextrin-glucosyltransferase was purified 40 fold to homogeneity on a large scale, by affinity chromatogrpahy on a β-CD copolymer cross-linked with epichlorhydrin. A preliminary step was necessary to remove maltooligosaccharides and cyclomaltooligosaccharides from the crude extract.

Starch-based dietary fibers are at the forefront of functional ingredient research. In this study, a novel water-soluble slow digestion dextrin (SDD) was synthesized by synergy of α-glucosidase and cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase and characterized. Results showed that SDD exhibited high solubility, low viscosity, and resistance to digestive enzymes ...

Abstract The extreme thermophilic cyclodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase) from Thermoanaerobacter sp. was covalently attached to Eupergit C. Different immobilization parameters (incubation time, ionic strength, pH, ratio enzyme/support, etc.) were optimized.

Abstract Based on the analysis of amino acid sequence and simulated structure, saturation mutagenesis was performed to explore the role of the site p176 of cyclodextrin glucosytransferase (CGTase) from Bacillus sp. Y112. Compared to the wild-type, mutant P176G showed 10.4 % improvement in conversion from starch to cyclodextrins (CDs), whose β-CD ...

The objective of this study was to enhance the production of cyclodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase) produced by a local isolate Bacillus cereus NRC7.In batch culture, maximal CGTase activity (69·0 U ml(-1)) was reached after 24-h incubation period. In continuous production of CGTase by the free cells of B.

Protein engineering is a very useful tool for probing structure-function relationships in proteins. Specifically, site-directed mutagenized proteins can provide useful insights into structural, binding and catalytic mechanisms of a protein, particularly when coupled with crystallization.
