Turn-Induction in Peptides Incorporating Novel Cyrene-Derived α,α-Disubstituted Amino Acid. [PDF]
Novel chiral cyrene‐derived Cyr residues were incorporated into peptides. The α,α‐disubstituted amino acid residue was introduced using the Ugi reaction. X‐ray crystallographic analysis of R‐ and S‐Cyr residues indicated preference to adopt left‐ and right‐handed α‐helical conformations, respectively.

Tomato-Soy Juice Reduces Inflammation and Modulates the Urinary Metabolome in Adults With Obesity. [PDF]
Compared to pre‐intervention, consuming a tomato‐soy juice (54 mg lycopene, 189 mg soy isoflavones/d) reduced levels of inflammatory cytokines (IL‐5, IL‐12p70, and GM‐CSF, with TNF‐alpha trending downward), increased plasma lycopene and urinary soy isoflavone metabolites, and altered the urinary metabolome. ABSTRACT Chronic, low‐grade inflammation is a

Aromatization of Cyclohexanecarboxylic Acid
Abstract An enzyme which catalyzes the aromatization of cyclohexanecarboxyl coenzyme A has been isolated from whole liver as well as from liver mitochondria. Incubation of the soluble, partially purified enzyme with cyclohexanecarboxyl-CoA produces cyclohexene-1-carboxyl-CoA, benzoyl-CoA, and a polar compound which has not been further characterized ...
