Novel approaches for drug development against chronic primary pain: A systematic review
Abstract Chronic primary pain (CPP) persisting for more than 3 months, associated with significant emotional distress without any known underlying cause, is an unmet medical need. Traditional or adjuvant analgesics do not provide satisfactory pain relief for a great proportion of these patients.

Vibrational Excitons in CH-Stretching Fundamental and Overtone Vibrational Circular Dichroism Spectra [PDF]
A set of vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra in the CH-stretching fundamental region for about twenty compounds belonging to the class of essential oils was empirically analyzed by the use of a sort of vibrational exciton mechanism, involving ...

Cycloaddition Reactions of Carbonyl Compounds Possessing High Energy Content [PDF]
Detailed structure and kinetic analyses of the photocycloaddition of alkanones to (a) α,β-unsaturated nitriles and (b) enol ethers have been performed. The excited singlet states of alkanones were found to add stereospecifically and regiospecifically to ...

Light‐Induced Reactions of Small‐Membered Cyclic Carbonyl Compounds
This review highlights recent advances in the synthesis and photochemical reactivity of cyclopropenone and cyclobutenedione. These compounds undergo photolysis upon direct excitation, and in some cases, through indirect excitation by photocatalysts. The resulting photogenerated species exhibit unique reactivity profiles that are strongly influenced by ...

Effect of structural ordering of the carbon support on the behavior of Pd catalysts in aqueous-phase hydrodechlorination [PDF]
Catalysts consisting of Pd supported on virgin and heat-treated carbon blacks (homemade and commercial), graphites (natural and synthetic) and commercial carbon nanofibers were prepared and tested in the aqueous phase hydrodechlorinaton (HDC) of 4 ...

Chiral potassium base catalysts featuring 1,1´‐bi‐2‐naphthol‐derived chiral crown ethers as ligands promote a tandem allylic isomerization/asymmetric aldol‐Tishchenko reaction of allylic alcohols and aldehydes. This method provides enantioenriched 1,3‐diols with excellent diastereoselectivity and high enantioselectivity, thereby expanding the synthetic
