Novel Cyclovirus Identified in Broiler Chickens With Transmissible Viral Proventriculitis in China [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2020
In October 2018, an outbreak of transmissible viral proventriculitis (TVP) occurred in 30-day-old commercial broiler chickens on a farm in Weifang, China.

The Virome of Acute Respiratory Diseases in Individuals at Risk of Zoonotic Infections [PDF]

open access: yesViruses, 2020
The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic emphasizes the need to actively study the virome of unexplained respiratory diseases. We performed viral metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) analysis of 91 nasal-throat swabs from ...

Cyclovirus in nasopharyngeal aspirates of Chilean children with respiratory infections [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2014
Some respiratory tract infections remain unexplained despite extensive testing for common pathogens. Nasopharyngeal aspirates (NPAs) from 120 Chilean infants from Santiago with acute lower respiratory tract infections were analysed by viral metagenomics,

Revisiting the taxonomy of the family Circoviridae: establishment of the genus Cyclovirus and removal of the genus Gyrovirus [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Virology, 2017
International audienceThe family Circoviridae contains viruses with covalently closed, circular, single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) genomes, including the smallest known autonomously replicating, capsid-encoding animal pathogens.

Detection and Complete Genome Analysis of Circoviruses and Cycloviruses in the Small Indian Mongoose (Urva auropunctata): Identification of Novel Species [PDF]

open access: yesViruses, 2021
Fecal samples from 76 of 83 apparently healthy small Indian mongooses (Urva auropunctata) were PCR positive with circovirus/cyclovirus pan-rep (replicase gene) primers.

Detection and Genetic Characterization of Canine Adenoviruses, Circoviruses, and Novel Cycloviruses From Wild Carnivores in Italy [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2022
Wild carnivores are known to play a role in the epidemiology of several canine viruses, including canine adenoviruses types 1 (CAdV-1) and 2 (CAdV-2), canine circovirus (CanineCV) and canine distemper virus (CDV).

Discovery of three cycloviruses in fecal samples from silver-haired bats (Lasionycteris noctivagans) in Arizona (USA) [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Virology, 2022
: Bats harbour a diverse array of viruses, some of which are zoonotic, and are one of the most speciose groups of mammals on earth. As part of an ongoing bat-associated viral diversity research project, we identified three cycloviruses (family ...

Cyclovirus detection in Chilean adults with and without community‐acquired pneumonia

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, 2021
AbstractCycloviruses (CyV) (genus Cyclovirus, family Circoviridae) are nonenveloped DNA viruses. The first report in humans was in 2010 and research has focused only on disease‐associated human sample detection. The only HuACyV (CyCV‐ChileNPA1, HuACyV10) reported in the Chilean population was in children (3.3%) with an acute respiratory infection.
