Application of a monoclonal antibody specific for the ORF92 capsid protein of Cyprinid herpesvirus 2

Journal of Virological Methods, 2018
Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) infection is a recently discovered viral disease of farmed silver crucian carp (Carassius auratus gibelio) in mainland China that has resulted in massive fish mortality and appears to be spreading cross the world. Various detection methods based on nucleic acids have been developed, but effective immunological diagnostic

Isolation of a cyprinid herpesvirus 2 from goldfish, Carassius auratus (L.), in the UK

Journal of Fish Diseases, 2007
AbstractHaematopoietic necrosis virus [cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV‐2)] was isolated during disease outbreaks in goldfish, Carassius auratus, at an ornamental fish retail site in southern England in 2004. Signs of disease included lethargy and inappetence and were first seen after water temperatures increased from 14–15 to 19–21 °C.

Immersion immunization with recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae displaying ORF25 induced protective immunity against cyprinid herpesvirus 2.

Journal of Fish Diseases
Displaying antigens on yeast surface as an oral vaccine has been widely explored, while its potential as an immersion vaccine has not been evaluated. Here, an immersion vaccine was prepared by displaying ORF25 of Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) on the ...

Development and evaluation of a loop-mediated isothermal amplification assay for diagnosis of Cyprinid herpesvirus 2

Journal of Virological Methods, 2013
Goldfish Haematopoietic Necrosis caused by Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) is a severe fish disease with high level of mortality. This is the first study on detection of this disease by loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP). A set of six primers targeting terminase gene (accession no.

Cell-mediated and humoral immune responses of cyprinids induced by a live attenuated vaccine against cyprinid herpesvirus 2 infection in comparison to the virus non-permissive high temperature water treatment.

Fish and Shellfish Immunology
The live attenuated vaccine (P7-P8 strain) against cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) infection of goldfish shows high protective efficacy. However, the underlying immune mechanism induced by P7-P8 vaccination remains unknown.

Differential expression of miRNA in Carassius auratus gibelio in response to cyprinid herpesvirus 2 infection

Developmental & Comparative Immunology, 2018
miRNAs (microRNAs), a small endogenous non-coding RNAs, play crucial roles in post-transcriptional regulator of genes expression in various biological processes. Cyprinid Herpesvirus-2 (CyHV-2) is a highly pathogenic member of the alloherpesviridae that causes acute mass mortalities in populations of Carassius auratus gibelio and Carassius auratus ...

Incursions of Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 in goldfish populations in Australia despite quarantine practices

Aquaculture, 2014
The international trade in ornamental fish is considered a major factor for the transboundary spread of aquatic pathogens that can affect both wild and farmed fish populations. Nearly 18 million ornamental fish were imported into Australia in 2007, including approximately 3.9 million goldfish.

Lauric Acid and Glycerol Monolaurate Inhibit the Activity of Cyprinid Herpesvirus 2 and Enhance Host Immune Reaction

Journal of Fish Diseases
Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV‐2) is a major pathogen causing high mortality in farmed goldfish and crucian carp, for which effective prophylactic or therapeutic treatments are currently limited.

Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 infection emerged in cultured gibel carp, Carassius auratus gibelio in China

Veterinary Microbiology, 2013
An epizootic with severe mortality has emerged in cultured gibel carp, Carassius auratus gibelio, in China since 2009, and caused huge economic loss. The signs and epidemiology background of the disease were investigated. Parasite examination, bacteria and virus isolation were carried out for pathogen isolation.
