Use of Discrete Wavelet Transform to Assess Impedance Fluctuations Obtained from Cellular Micromotion

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Electric cell–substrate impedance sensing (ECIS) is an attractive method for monitoring cell behaviors in tissue culture in real time. The time series impedance fluctuations of the cell-covered electrodes measured by ECIS are the phenomena accompanying ...

Autotriploid and allotriploid abalone larvae (Haliotis discus hannai and H. discus hannai ♀ × Haliotis fulgens ♂) produced by two chemical methods

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2021
Two types of abalone larvae, Haliotis discus hannai and H. discus hannai ♀ × Haliotis fulgens ♂, were produced by inhibiting polar body II (PB2) via treatment with two chemicals: cytochalasin-B (CB) and 6-dimethylaminopurine (6-DMAP).

A permeabilized cell model for studying cell division: a comparison of anaphase chromosome movement and cleavage furrow constriction in lysed PtK1 cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
After lysis in a Brij 58-polyethylene glycol medium, PtK1 cells are permeable to small molecules, such as erythrosin B, and to proteins, such as rhodamine-labeled FAB, myosin subfragment-1, and tubulin.

Cytochalasins from the Ash Endophytic Fungus Nemania diffusa DSM 116299

open access: yesMolecules
The secondary metabolome of Nemania diffusa, isolated as an ash endophytic fungus, was analyzed in detail. From its cultures, a previously undescribed cytochalasin 1 was isolated using preparative HPLC, together with six known congeners: 18-dehydroxy ...

Study on Chemicals for Post-activation in Porcine Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer

open access: yesJournal of Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology, 2016
Since the first success of animal cloning, somatic cell nuclear transfer presented various ideas in many research areas such as regenerative medicine. However, SCNT embryos has poor survival rate. Therefore, numerous researches carried out to enhance the

Activation of ADF/cofilin by phosphorylation-regulated Slingshot phosphatase is required for the meiotic spindle assembly in Xenopus laevis oocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We identify Xenopus ADF/cofilin (XAC) and its activator, Slingshot phosphatase (XSSH), as key regulators of actin dynamics essential for spindle microtubule assembly during Xenopus oocyte maturation.

Differences in protein mobility between pioneer versus follower growth cones [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Navigating growth cones need to integrate, process and respond to guidance signals, requiring dynamic information transfer within and between different compartments.

Stimulation of a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase by insulin and the sulfonylurea, glimepiride, in rat adipocytes depends on increased glucose transport [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
. Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and glycolipidanchored cAMP-binding ectoprotein (Gcel) are modified by glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol (GPI) in rat adipocytes, however, the linkage is potentially unstable. Incubation of the cells with either insulin (0.1-30 nM)

TREM2 Drives Neutrophil Extracellular Traps‐Induced Dendritic Cell Maturation and Contributes to Lupus Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TREM2 recognizes NETs‐derived MPO to promote DC maturation and antigen presentation, thereby exacerbating the autoimmune response in SLE. Mechanistically, TREM2 activation triggers the DAP12/SYK/ERK cascade and enhances NETs internalization by DCs, which in turn activates the cGAS/STING signaling pathway.
