Apoptotic Vesicles Derived from Mesenchymal Stem Cells Ameliorate Hypersensitivity Responses via Inducing CD8+ T Cells Apoptosis with Calcium Overload and Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The therapeutic potential of ApoVs derived from stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED‐ApoVs) in the treatment of CD8+ T cell‐mediated hypersensitivity reactions is noteworthy. SHED‐ApoVs are capable of fusing with the plasma membrane of CD8+ T cells, which subsequently triggers a series of events characterized by calcium overload ...

Structure Elucidation, Total Synthesis, Antibacterial In Vivo Efficacy and Biosynthesis Proposal of Myxobacterial Corramycin**

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 61, Issue 51, December 19, 2022., 2022
Corramycin is a novel natural product produced by the myxobacterium Corallococcus coralloides. The structure, extraordinary total synthesis and biosynthesis of the antibiotic is described for the first time. Its promise as an in vivo septicemia model, the absence of cross‐resistance with commonly used antibiotic classes, and the lack of cytotoxicity ...

Advances in Nano‐Immunomodulatory Systems for the Treatment of Acute Kidney Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the biodegradability and the immunological reactiveness, IMNs can be broadly classified into four categories. The first category includes types of biologically derived materials that cause immunomodulatory action and biodegradability like nanoparticles of cell membranes, extracellular vesicles, and exosomes.

The Role of Cytochrome P450 AbyV in the Final Stages of Abyssomicin C Biosynthesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 62, Issue 3, January 16, 2023., 2023
The cytochrome P450 enzyme AbyV catalyses a key epoxidation in the final stages of the biosynthesis of the spirotetronate antibiotic abyssomicin C. Combining structural and computational data with a 13C labelling strategy was found to be a powerful approach to interrogate the biotransformation and determine the precise function of the enzyme.

SIRT3‐Mediated Deacetylation of DRP1K711 Prevents Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SIRT3‐mediated deacetylation of DRP1 at K711 resists mitochondrial dysfunction and DA neuronal death in PD, uncovering a treatment target. Abstract Dysregulation of mitochondrial dynamics is a key contributor to the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD).

Understanding the behavioural difference of PPCA among its homologs in C7 family towards recognition of DXCA [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Among all the proteins of Periplasmic C type cytochrome A (PPCA) family obtained from cytochrome C7 found in Geobacter sulfurreducens, PPCA protein can interact with Deoxycholate (DXCA), while its other homologs do not, as observed from the crystal structures.

Icaritin Represses Autophagy to Promote Colorectal Cancer Cell Apoptosis and Sensitized Low‐Temperature Photothermal Therapy via Targeting HSP90‐TXNDC9 Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Icaritin demonstrates broad antitumor effects by inhibiting colorectal cancer (CRC) cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and causing cell cycle arrest. It induces apoptosis by repressing autophagic flux through disrupting HSP90‐TXNDC9 interactions.

The evolution and structure of biomedical knowledge on cytochrome P450 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Cytochrome P450 are fundamental proteins to the metabolism of drugs and other relevant processes. through a combination of text mining and network analysis of the P450 literature we mapped the emergence and evolution of the biomedical research communities working on this family of proteins.

Cryo‐EM Analysis of a Tri‐Heme Cytochrome‐Associated RC‐LH1 Complex from the Marine Photoheterotrophic Bacterium Dinoroseobacter Shibae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cryo‐EM reveals a closed 17‐subunit LH ring encircling the RC‐LH1 complex in Dinoroseobacter shibae, featuring a novel helix‐turn‐helix subunit bridging RC and LH. Mg2⁺/Ca2⁺ stabilizes the complex, while periplasmic Cyt c₂ mediates electron transfer via a tri‐heme Cyt to the special pair of bacteriochlorophylls. Insights into energy/electron efficiency
