Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Cytochrome c un-folding in AOT Reverse Micelles: the first steps [PDF]
This paper explores the reduced form of horse cytochrome c confined in reverse micelles (RM) of so-dium bis-(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT) in isooctane by molecular dynamics simulation. RMs of two sizes were constructed at a water content of Wo = [H2O]/[AOT] = 5.5 and 9.1.

Cytochrome c oxidase in cytochrome c oxidase-deficient mutant strains of Neurospora crassa.
Three mutant strains of Neurospora crassa, previously characterized as cytochrome c oxidase deficient, were found to possess this respiratory enzyme. The mitochondrial cytochrome contents of logarithmic phase cells of wild type (74A) and the respiration-deficient strains mi-3, cya-4-23, and cya-5-34 were investigated with low temperature difference ...

ABSTRACT Unspecific peroxygenases (UPOs) and cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (CYPs) with peroxygenase activity are becoming the preferred biocatalysts for oxyfunctionalization reactions. While whole cells (WCs) or cell‐free extracts (CFEs) of Escherichia coli are often preferred for cofactor‐dependent monooxygenase reactions, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2 ...

The small protein CydX is required for function of cytochrome bd oxidase in Brucella abortus
A large number of hypothetical genes potentially encoding small proteins of unknown function are annotated in the Brucella abortus genome. Individual deletion of 30 of these genes identified four mutants, in BAB1_0355, BAB2¬_0726, BAB2_0470 and ...

The use of mtCOI gene sequences in identifying Butis species in the Southwest of Vietnam
Butis genus is characterised by their small body size and morphological variability, allowing them to adapt to different habitats. This paper analyses the mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase subunit I gene sequences and morphology of Butis for ...

The PCLA‐SNP scaffolds can produce photothermal agents in situ under ultraviolet radiation. Then, the scaffold can release nitric oxide gas spontaneously and generate hyperthermia under near‐infrared laser to enhance ablation of bone tumors. Furthermore, the calcium and iron ions released from PCLA‐SNP scaffolds can accelerate bone regeneration ...
