Additional risk factors of ventricular repolarization asynchrony in Q-wave myocardial infarction

open access: yesРоссийский кардиологический журнал, 2007
The study included 101 patients with acute Q-wave infarction. Standard examination was accompanied by assessment of myocardial repolarization dispersion assessment (Day 1 and Day 7) and Chlamydia pneumoniae and Cytomegalovirus infections.

Cytomegalovirus Infection

open access: yes, 2023
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a common viral pathogen. Most people who have acute CMV will have an undetectable infection. It is known that cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the most prevalent congenital viral infection in individuals and a significant factor in morbidity and mortality in immunosuppressed hosts, as well as a significant factor in neurodevelopmental ...

A Super‐Enhancer‐Driven Transcriptional Regulatory Circuit Underlying Abiraterone Resistance in Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a super‐enhancer‐driven transcriptional regulatory circuit comprising BCL6, SMAD3, and NFIB that cooperate to drive cholesterol synthesis via SREBF2/HMGCR/FDFT1 activation and regulate CDK2/CCND3 for cell cycle control. Targeting this circuit with BI‐3802 or downstream inhibitors (Fatostatin/Lovastatin) overcomes abiraterone ...

RPL6 Interacts with HMGCS1 to Stabilize HIF‐1α by Promoting Cholesterol Production in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study found that RPL6 is frequently upregulated in HCC tissues with extrahepatic metastasis. Elevated RPL6 bound to and increased the stability of HMGCS1 mRNA, thereby enhancing intracellular cholesterol levels. Subsequently, increased cholesterol promotes cancer metastasis in HCC by stabilizing HIF‐1α protein.

Extracellular LCN2 Binding to 24p3R in Astrocytes Impedes α‐Synuclein Endocytosis in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
24p3R is an astrocytic receptor for α‐Syn uptake. When LCN2 is secreted from astrocytes, it binds to its receptor 24p3R in astrocytes and this binding impedes the α‐Syn PFF binding to 24p3R. This in turn inhibits 24p3R‐mediated α‐Syn PFF uptake and reduces the clearance of extracellular α‐Syn by astrocytes, which contributes to α‐Syn spread and ...

Cytomegalovirus establishes a latent reservoir and triggers long-lasting inflammation in the eye.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2018
Recent outbreaks of Ebola and Zika have highlighted the possibility that viruses may cause enduring infections in tissues like the eye, including the neural retina, which have been considered immune privileged.
