CD226+CD8+ T cells express elevated levels of RUNX2, exhibit higher proliferation capacity, cytokines and cytolytic molecules expression, and migratory capacity. In contrast, CD226−CD8+ T cells display an exhausted phenotype associated with the increased expression of co‐inhibitory receptors and impaired effector functions.

Kinetics of Cellular Cytotoxicity Mediated by Cloned Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes
Kinetic methods can provide significant information concerning the mechanism of cellular cytotoxicity reactions. Previous kinetic studies of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (Tc) have been hampered by the heterogeneity of the effector cell population tested. We therefore examined the kinetics of lysis mediated by cloned, IL 2 and antigen-dependent murine Tc ...

2-(2-Phenylethyl)chromone Derivatives of Agarwood Originating from Gyrinops salicifolia
Three new2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone derivatives (1–3) and a new2-(2-phenylethenyl)chromone derivative (4), together with two known 2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone derivatives (5–6), were isolated from agarwood originating from Gyrinops salicifolia Ridl.

Effects of space structure and combination therapies on phenotypic heterogeneity and drug resistance in solid tumors [PDF]
Histopathological evidence supports the idea that the emergence of phenotypic heterogeneity and resistance to cytotoxic drugs can be considered as a process of adaptation, or evolution, in tumor cell populations. In this framework, can we explain intra-tumor heterogeneity in terms of cell adaptation to local conditions?

A mathematical justification for metronomic chemotherapy in oncology [PDF]
We mathematically justify metronomic chemotherapy as the best strategy to apply most cytotoxic drugs in oncology for both curative and palliative approaches, assuming the classical pharmacokinetic model together with the Emax pharmacodynamic and the Norton-Simon hypothesis.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a disease with very poor prognosis due to therapeutic limitations. We investigated the antitumor effects of cystatin A (CSTA) in PDAC murine models. We are first to confirm that CSTA enhances T helper type 1‐mediated antitumor effects through promotion of dendritic cells and M1 macrophage activity. CSTA can be

Synthesis and In Vitro Cytotoxic Properties of Polycarbo-Substituted 4-(Arylamino)quinazolines
Herein, we describe the synthesis of novel unsymmetrical polycarbo-substituted 4-anilinoquinazolines derived from the 2-aryl-6-bromo-8-iodoquinazolines via one-pot three-step reaction sequences involving initial amination and subsequent double cross ...
