Placental expression of d-chiro-inositol phosphoglycans in preeclampsia
Placenta, 2012Abnormalities in glucose metabolism linked to D-chiro-inostol phosphoglycans (IPGs) have been described in human placentas of preeclamptic women. In this study, a semi-quantitative approach to assess the histological assessment of IPGs revealed no significant differences between early and late onset preeclampsia and gestational age matched controls ...

The acute effects after administration of 3-O-Methyl-D-Chiro-inositol, D-Chiro-inositol and manganese, components of the pH 2.0 putative mediator of insulin action, on plasma glucose were examined in low dose streptozotocin-treated rats. 3-O-Methyl-D-Chiro-inositol at a bolus dose of 5 mg/kg decreased plasma glucose 6% at 120 min (p < 0.05).

D‐Chiro‐Inositol Phosphate in a Forest Soil
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1972Abstract The previously unidentified “D,L”‐chiro‐inositol phosphate (L'Annunziata and Fuller, 1971) of a Tucson forest soil was identified as the dextrorotatory D‐chiro‐inositol phosphate. An infrared spectrum of the inositol moiety was obtained as evidence for the chiro isomer, additional to the previously ...

D-Chiro Inositol in Lowering Androgen Levels in Pcos Patients
Pakistan Journal of Medical and Health Sciences, 2022Background and objectives: PCOS affects the endocrine, metabolic, and reproductive systems, resulting in the production of cysts in the women who have it. When provided, D-chiro inositol, a new therapeutic agent, has the potential to enhance the patient's endocrine profile.

d-chiro-Inositol enhances effects of hypothalamic toxin gold-thioglucose
Brain Research, 2003D-chiro-Inositol (DCI) enhances reproductive function in insulin-resistant women with polycystic ovarian disease and enhances the effects of insulin in the periphery, suggesting that this compound may act in part by sensitizing the hypothalamus to effects of insulin.

Synthesis of fagopyritols A1 and B1 from d-chiro-inositol
Carbohydrate Research, 2004Fagopyritol A1 (3-O-alpha-d-galactopyranosyl-d-chiro-inositol) and fagopyritol B1 (2-O-alpha-d-galactopyranosyl-d-chiro-inositol) have been synthesized by glycosylation of the diequatorial diol 1,4,5,6-tetra-O-benzoyl-d-chiro-inositol, readily obtained from d-chiro-inositol, with 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-benzyl-d-galactopyranosyl trichloroacetimidate.

Quercetin and d-chiro-inositol combined alleviate hepatic insulin resistance
Food Bioscience, 2021Abstract The hypoglycemic effects and underlying molecular mechanisms of combining two dietary compounds, quercetin (Que) and d-chiro-inositol (DCI) on hepatic insulin resistance in C57BL/6J mice that were fed a high fat diet and saturated palmitic acid (PA)-treated hepatocytes were studied.

Metabolic engineering Corynebacterium glutamicum for D-chiro-inositol production
World Journal of Microbiology and BiotechnologyD-chiro-inositol (DCI) is a potential drug for the treatment of type II diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome. In order to effectively synthesize DCI in Corynebacterium glutamicum, the genes related to inositol catabolism in clusters iol1 and iol2 were knocked out in C. glutamicum SN01 to generate the chassis strain DCI-1.

Synthesis of 3-O-methyl-D-chiro-inositol adenosine analogues
Frontiers of Chemistry in China, 2008Using 3-O-methyl-D-chiro-inositol as starting material, the title compound 5 was synthesized by condensation of adenine and methanesulfonate 3. Additionally, compounds 8 and 9 were prepared through the opening of the epoxide ring in 7 by adenine. The key intermediate 7 was obtained in good yield via an epoxidation from mono-mesylate 6.

Syntheses of D-chiro-3-inosose and (+)-D-chiro inositol [PDF]
There are described novel biocatalytic and chemical processes for the synthesis of various oxygenated compounds. Particularly, there are described processes for the synthesis of a useful synthon 12 made by reacting a protected diol (acetonide) with permaganate under appropriate conditions.
