Effects of acetylbergenin against D -galactosamine-induced hepatotoxicity in rats
Pharmacological Research, 2000The hepatoprotective effects of acetylbergenin were examined against D -galactosamine (GalN)-induced liver damage in rats, compared with that of bergenin reported previously. Acetylbergenin was synthesized from acetylation of bergenin, isolated from Mallotus japonicus, to increase lipophilic and physiological activities. Acetylbergenin was administered

Studies on the inhibition of glycogenolysis by D-galactosamine in rat liver hepatocytes
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1976Abstract Effect of galactosamine on glycogenolysis was studied in isolated hepatocytes. It was found that addition of galactosamine strongly inhibited glycogenolysis in normal hepatocytes. Galactosamine-inhibited glycogenolysis was not stimulated by epinephrine or glucagon.

Syntheses of α-d-galactosamine neoglycolipids
Carbohydrate Research, 2006Several N-acetyl-alpha-d-galactosamine neoglycolipids, as well as hydrophobized T and T(N) antigen analogues, were prepared for embedment onto liposomes. Three different lipidic structures were used for the anchoring, that is cholesterol, 1,3-bis(undecyloxy)propan-2-ol and 1,3-bis(3,7,11,15-tetramethylhexadecyloxy)propan-2-ol.

d-Galactosamine hepatotoxicity
Experimental and Molecular Pathology, 1978Abstract The role of free fatty acids (FFA) in the pathogenesis of fatty liver was investigated in female rats who received a single ip injection of d -galactosamine-HCl, (GalN), 750 mg/kg body weight. Groups of rats were either fasted for 14 hr prior to GalN injection and then fasted for the duration of the experiment or were fed ad libitum prior ...
