The Telocytes in the Subepicardial Niche

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
A great interest has developed over the last several years in research on interstitial Cajal-like cells (ICLCs), later renamed to telocytes (TCs). Such studies are restricted by diverse limitations. We aimed to critically review (sub)epicardial ICLCs/TCs

Lymphatic vessel assessment by podoplanin (D2-40) immunohistochemistry in breast cancer

open access: yesJournal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics, 2015
Context: Lymph node metastasis has an important bearing on the staging of breast cancer. Lymph node metastasis occurs by hematogenous and lymphatic spread. The hematogenous and lymphatic spread can be quantified by the blood vessel and lymphatic vessel density in the intra-tumoral and peri-tumoral zone by ...

Detection of lymphovascular invasion in urothelial carcinoma of the bladder through D2-40 immunostaining

open access: yes, 2015
Lymphovascular invasion (LVI) represents a surrogate marker for micrometastatic urothelial carcinoma of the bladder (UCB). We evaluated whether D2-40 immunhistochemistry (IHC) alters detection of LVI when compared to conventional HE (hematoxylin-eosin ...

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Peritumoral lymphatic vessel density as a prognostic parameter in endometrial carcinoma: An immunohistochemical study

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2010
Context: Lymphatic invasion and nodal metastasis play a major role in the spread and prognosis of endometrial adenocarcinoma (EC). Aims: In this study, we investigate tumor lymph-angiogenesis, detected by D2-40, as a predictive marker for the risk of ...

Channel 40 news segment on E. Coli rapid detection method (April 1998)

open access: yes, 1998
This is a short Channel 40 news segment on Dr. Chun-Kwun Wun and Dr. Frank J. Torre development of a E. Coli Rapid Detection method. The segment is about two minutes and 20 seconds long. The segment was digitized from a VHS tape which over the years seem
