Prognostic significance of lymphovascular invasion in patients with pT1b esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2023
Background Lymphovascular invasion (LVI) is a crucial predictor of lymph node metastasis (LNM). However, few studies have investigated the LVI positivity rate and its clinical significance in pT1b esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) using ...

Cocaine modulates allosteric D2-σ1 receptor-receptor interactions on dopamine and glutamate nerve terminals from rat striatum

open access: yes, 2017
The effects of nanomolar cocaine concentrations, possibly not blocking the dopamine transporter activity, on striatal D2-σ1 heteroreceptor complexes and their inhibitory signaling over Gi/o, have been tested in rat striatal synaptosomes and HEK293T cells.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Design and Analysis of Compression–Torsion Coupling Metamaterials Using the Golden Section Method

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel compression–torsion metamaterial is engineered using inclined rods and symmetry breaking. To optimize its torsional performance, the golden section method is employed. The mechanical response of the metamaterial is validated through both numerical analysis and experimental validation.

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Microfabricated Anisotropic Myobundles for the Scalable Production of Cardiac Tissue Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the anisotropy of cardiac tissue remains an outstanding challenge in the field of cardiac tissue engineering. Here, we introduce an approach to generate anisotropic cardiac myobundles using cell‐adhesive, synthetic, electrospun fibers and stem cell‐derived cardiac fibroblasts.

Hemolymphangioma of the Knee: A Case Report of a Rare Vascular Malformation

open access: yesIndian Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery
Hemolymphangioma is a rare slow-flow combined vascular malformation composed of both lymphatic and blood vessels. This lesion has been documented in various anatomical locations, but its occurrence in the knee is exceedingly rare, with only one ...

Digitizing the Filtration Interface: A Smart, Modular Janus Wood Platform for Self‐Reporting Oil/Water Remediation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work developed a smart Janus wood membrane integrating asymmetric wettability with built‐in electrical sensing for oil‐water separation. The membrane achieved > 99.5% separation efficiency and high flux by leveraging wood's natural anisotropic pore structure.
