Spillover effects of remittances on local public spending in developing economies

open access: yesEconomics and Business Review
We develop a political economy model to study spatial spillover effects of remittances on local public goods with inter-regional positive externalities.

Mirage cosmology with an unstable probe D3-brane

open access: yes, 2005
We consider the mirage cosmology by an unstable probe brane whose action is represented by BDI action with tachyon. We study how the presence of tachyon affects the evolution of the brane inflation.

A Note on Thermodynamics and Holography of Moving Giant Gravitons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In our previous work (Phys. Rev. D63, 085010, hep-th/0011290), we showed that the brane universe on the giant graviton moving in the near-horizon background of the dilatonic D(6-p)-brane is described by the mirage cosmology.

Patient‐Derived Neurons Exhibit α‐Synuclein Pathology and Previously Unrecognized Major Histocompatibility Complex Class I Elevation in Mitochondrial Membrane Protein–Associated Neurodegeneration

open access: yesMovement Disorders, Volume 40, Issue 12, Page 2811-2818, December 2025.
Abstract Background Mitochondrial membrane protein–associated neurodegeneration (MPAN) from the neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation (NBIA) family is a rare neurodegenerative disease marked by α‐synuclein aggregation, brain iron accumulation, and midbrain dopaminergic neuron degeneration.

Magnetic properties of Fe3O4 nanoparticles coated with oleic and dodecanoic acids

open access: yes, 2010
Magnetic nanoparticles (NP) of magnetite (Fe3O4) coated with oleic acid (OA) and dodecanoic acid (DA) were synthesized and investigated through Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM),magnetization M, and ac magnetic susceptibility measurements.

Carlo V novello Ercole: la Rotella D63 della Real Armería di Madrid

open access: yesGilgameš, 2016
In the collections of the Real Armería of Madrid it is conserved a shield known as Plus Ultra or Apotheosis of Charles V. The young emperor Charles V is compared, until 1516, to the mythical hero Hercules, who placed two columns at the edge of the known world. Starting from 1530 this identification is accompanied with a new image of the emperor.

Dual Clumped Isotope (Δ47, Δ48) Values for Calcite Grown at Varying pH and Carbonic Anhydrase Concentrations Constrain Equilibrium and Kinetic Isotope Effects

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract This study explores the isotopologues m/z 47 (13C18O16O, denoted Δ47) and m/z 48 (12C18O2, denoted Δ48) in CO2 derived from carbonate minerals, focusing on their temperature dependency, kinetic isotope effects, and distinct reaction pathways. By conducting experiments at four temperatures (5°C, 10°C, 15°C, and 25°C) using the enzyme carbonic ...

Method Overview for Discovering ATE1 Substrates and their Arginylation Sites

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 26, Issue 23, November 27, 2025.
Arginylation is a decades‐old post‐translational modification but is inherently difficult to study. A plurality of methods have been developed and deployed to uncover the biology and substrates of this modification. This review covers the history, major advancements, and substrates discovered over the course of six decades.
