Abstract Background Mitochondrial membrane protein–associated neurodegeneration (MPAN) from the neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation (NBIA) family is a rare neurodegenerative disease marked by α‐synuclein aggregation, brain iron accumulation, and midbrain dopaminergic neuron degeneration.

Trans-Planckian Physics and Inflationary Cosmology [PDF]
Due to the quasi-exponential red-shifting which occurs during an inflationary period in the very early Universe, wavelengths which at the present time correspond to cosmological lengths are in general sub-Planckian during the early stages of inflation ...

Abstract This study explores the isotopologues m/z 47 (13C18O16O, denoted Δ47) and m/z 48 (12C18O2, denoted Δ48) in CO2 derived from carbonate minerals, focusing on their temperature dependency, kinetic isotope effects, and distinct reaction pathways. By conducting experiments at four temperatures (5°C, 10°C, 15°C, and 25°C) using the enzyme carbonic ...

Method Overview for Discovering ATE1 Substrates and their Arginylation Sites
Arginylation is a decades‐old post‐translational modification but is inherently difficult to study. A plurality of methods have been developed and deployed to uncover the biology and substrates of this modification. This review covers the history, major advancements, and substrates discovered over the course of six decades.

Dynamical fat link fermions [PDF]
The use of APE smearing or other blocking techniques in fermion actions can provide many advantages. There are many variants of these fat link actions in lattice QCD currently, such as FLIC fermions.

Carlo V novello Ercole: la Rotella D63 della Real Armería di Madrid
In the collections of the Real Armería of Madrid it is conserved a shield known as Plus Ultra or Apotheosis of Charles V. The young emperor Charles V is compared, until 1516, to the mythical hero Hercules, who placed two columns at the edge of the known world. Starting from 1530 this identification is accompanied with a new image of the emperor.

Abstract This study examines how different structural choices in bulk microphysics schemes impact the simulation of warm rain initiation. A single liquid category (SLC) approach prognosing up to four moments of a single drop size distribution (DSD) is compared to the traditional two‐category, two‐moment approach with separate DSDs for cloud and rain ...

Ex post approaches to prioritarianism and sufficientarianism
Although sufficientarianism has been gaining interest as a theory of distributive justice in recent years, it has not been examined in the presence of risk. We propose an ex post approach to sufficientarianism that has a strong link to ex post prioritarianism.

Age Constraints on Brane Models of Dark Energy [PDF]
Inspired by recent developments in particle physics, the so-called brane world cosmology seems to provide an alternative explanation for the present dark energy problem.

ABSTRACT Background Tacrolimus is an immunosuppressant drug with a narrow therapeutic index used to treat children following solid organ transplantation as well as those with other immune‐mediated conditions. While tacrolimus exists as a child‐friendly commercially prepared formulation in many countries, such formulation adapted to children's needs is ...
