A novel radioimmunoassay for daidzein

Steroids, 1997
A radioimmunoassay for daidzein was established, based on polyclonal antibodies against daidzein-4'-O-(carboxymethyl)ether-BSA. The sensitivity of the assay was 0.4 pg/tube; the intra- and interassay coefficients of variation varied from 4.1 to 11.5% and from 5.6 to 21.7%, respectively, depending upon the method (direct or extraction) and concentration

Daidzein ameliorates diabetic retinopathy in experimental animals

Life Sciences, 2021
The present study was designed to check the effect of daidzein in the management of diabetic retinopathy.Streptozotocin at dose 55 mg/kg was used for inducing diabetes in rats. After 28 days of diabetic induction, animals were treated with daidzein at dose 25, 50, and 100 mg/kg for the next 28 days.

Daidzein and its Effects on Brain

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2017
Among naturally occurring isoflavones, soy isoflavones are an important class with various biological activities. Due to their phytoestrogenic structure, their effects on the brain are profound thus making the neurobiological effects of these compounds an active area of research.

Chemical Synthesis of [13C]Daidzein

Journal of Medicinal Food, 1999
Pharmacokinetic and metabolic studies of phytoestrogens of the isoflavone class have been hampered by the lack of suitable stable-isotope-labeled analogs. A method for preparation of a [(13)C]-labeled analog of daidzein is described. [2-(13)C]Daidzein was synthesized by reaction of [(13)C]diethoxydimethylaminomethane with 2,4-dihydroxybenzoin.

Interactions between puerarin/daidzein and micellar casein

Journal of Food Biochemistry, 2022
Puerarin (PUE) and daidzein (DAI) are polyphenols with extensive biological activities. In the present study, the interactions between PUE/DAI and micellar casein (MC) were investigated, and the physicochemical properties of their complexes were analyzed.

Biotransformation of daidzein ditiglate by microorganisms

Natural Product Research, 2006
Biotransformation of the daidzein ditiglate (2) by fungi, Aspergillus niger and Glomerella cingulata was investigated. Compound 2 was transformed to daidzein (1) by A. niger and G. cingulata. This suggested that compound 2 was converted to compound 1 by hydrolysis at both of the C-7 and C-4' positions.
