Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.

Effect of Structural Defects on Parameters of Silicon Four-Quadrant p-i-n Photodiodes
The article examines the influence of structural defects, in particular dislocations, on the electrical and photovoltaic properties of silicon four-quadrant p-i-n photodiodes.

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Delivery of DNA‐encoded vaccines and proteins in mice using cutaneous suction‐mediated transfection
Cutaneous suction‐mediated transfection in mice for delivery of DNA‐encoded vaccines and proteins. A critical limitation of DNA vaccines and other therapeutics is transfection in vivo to produce the encoded antigens or therapeutic proteins. Cutaneous suction‐based methods have demonstrated effectiveness in many animal models and have been successfully ...

The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

Multimodal shifts in the dark current of silicon photomultipliers
Abstract The dark count rate is one of the key properties of avalanche photodiodes (APDs) and silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs). Previous studies have reported discrete shifts in the dark count rate on short timescales (∼10 ms to ∼100 s) with small increases (up to ∼1 kHz per APD).

Dark current behavior in DSLR cameras
Digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras are examined and their dark current behavior is presented. We examine the influence of varying temperature, exposure time, and gain setting on dark current. Dark current behavior unique to sensors within such cameras is observed.
