Ultraviolet inflorescence cues enhance attractiveness of inflorescence odour to Culex pipiens mosquitoes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Inflorescence patterns of ultraviolet (UV) absorption and UV-reflection are attractive to many insect pollinators. To understand whether UV inflorescence cues affect the attraction of nectar-foraging mosquitoes, we worked with the common house mosquito ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Leveraging interdisciplinary methods for evidence collection in enforcement: Dark patterns as a case study

open access: yesInternet Policy Review
“Dark patterns” are manipulative, deceptive design practices deployed in online services to influence users’ decisions towards undesired or negative outcomes.

Probing clustering features around Cl 0024+17

open access: yes, 2009
I present a spatial analysis of the galaxy distribution around the cluster Cl 0024+17. The basic aim is to find the scales where galaxies present a significant deviation from an inhomogeneous Poisson statistical process.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

A Local Description of Dark Energy in Terms of Classical Two-Component Massive Spin-One Uncharged Fields on Spacetimes with Torsionful Affinities

open access: yes, 2016
It is assumed that the two-component spinor formalisms for curved spacetimes that are endowed with torsionful affine connexions can supply a local description of dark energy in terms of classical massive spin-one uncharged fields.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

La manipolazione occulta: come i dark patterns influenzano le decisioni dei consumatori [PDF]

open access: yesDemocrazia e Diritti Sociali
Increasing competition in sales has led retailers to adopt different strategies to engage users and guide them through the digital purchasing process. Some retailers use ‘digital nudges’ that aim to guide the user through the buying process.

Dark Carbon Fixation Measurements in the East Sea (Sea of Japan)

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The vertical distribution patterns of daily primary production and dark carbon fixation were investigated at three stations in the East/Japan Sea (hereafter East Sea), a semi-enclosed marginal sea in the northwest Pacific Ocean.
