Structural and Material Properties of Chitin Nanofibers Produced Without Deacetylation Treatment
Deacetylation pretreatment is commonly applied to chitin nanofibers to introduce positive charges on their surface, increasing their fibrillation efficiency in water. However, without this treatment, chitin cannot be easily disintegrated into fibers with

Emerging roles of telomeric chromatin alterations in cancer [PDF]
Telomeres, the nucleoprotein structures that cap the ends of eukaryotic chromosomes, play important and multiple roles in tumorigenesis. Functional telomeres need the establishment of a protective chromatin structure based on the interplay between the ...

Sirtuin as the target of anti-cancer therapy
Sirtuins is a group of nicotinamide dinucleotide (NAD +) - dependent, which have deacetylation and ADP-ribosylation activity. They work by detaching the acetyl group from the lysine residue of the histones, thanks to which they influence the control of ...

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF STARCH-CHITOSAN COMPOSITES [PDF]
In this experiment, the composites based on chitosan-starch were synthesized at different weight ratios (3/7, 4/6, 5/5, 6/4, 7/3, 8/2, 9/1) by using 4 %v of glycerol as plasticizer.

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

SIRT2-dependent CPT1A deacetylation in macrophages inhibits periodontitis
IntroductionPeriodontitis is intricately related to systemic disorders and exerts a negative impact on quality of life. Recent studies have suggested a potential association between periodontitis and fatty acid oxidation (FAO), a key metabolic process ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting
