Mitigation of antinutritional factors and protease inhibitors of defatted winged bean-seed proteins using thermal and hydrothermal treatments: Denaturation/unfolding coupled hydrolysis mechanism

open access: yesCurrent Research in Food Science, 2022
The inactivation of antinutritional factors, protease inhibitors within winged bean protein was induced by two respective method treatments. The physical method based on steam vapor that was conducted using an autoclave and chemical method consisting on ...

A simple model of DNA denaturation and mutually avoiding walks statistics

open access: yes, 2002
Recently Garel, Monthus and Orland (Europhys. Lett. v 55, 132 (2001)) considered a model of DNA denaturation in which excluded volume effects within each strand are neglected, while mutual avoidance is included.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization and biological applications of some novel Schiff base transition metal (II) complexes derived from curcumin moiety

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2021
Schiff bases are considered as privileged ligand in coordination chemistry as they easily form stable complexes with most transition metal complexes.

Thermal Denaturation of Fluctuating DNA Driven by Bending Entropy

open access: yes, 2007
A statistical model of homopolymer DNA, coupling internal base pair states (unbroken or broken) and external thermal chain fluctuations, is exactly solved using transfer kernel techniques.

Irreversible Thermal Denaturation of Glucose Oxidase from Aspergillus niger Is the Transition to the Denatured State with Residual Structure [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2004
Glucose oxidase (GOX; beta-d-glucose:oxygen oxidoreductase) from Aspergillus niger is a dimeric flavoprotein with a molecular mass of 80 kDa/monomer. Thermal denaturation of glucose oxidase has been studied by absorbance, circular dichroism spectroscopy, viscosimetry, and differential scanning calorimetry.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Molecular understanding of calorimetric protein unfolding experiments

open access: yesBiophysical Reports, 2022
Testing and predicting protein stability gained importance because proteins, including antibodies, became pharmacologically relevant in viral and cancer therapies. Isothermal scanning calorimetry is the principle method to study protein stability.

Theory of Bubble Nucleation and Cooperativity in DNA Melting

open access: yes, 2004
The onset of intermediate states (denaturation bubbles) and their role during the melting transition of DNA are studied using the Peyrard-Bishop-Daxuois model by Monte Carlo simulations with no adjustable parameters.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
