Ionic self-assembly of dendrimers

open access: yes, 2022
Dendrimers are highly branched macromolecules that possess a large number of functional groups at the periphery. Among the different types of dendrimers, those bearing charged sites in their structure, namely ionic dendrimers, attract increasing ...

Cationic‐Hydrophilic Di‐Block Copolymers: Surface‐Shielded Vectors for Gene Delivery

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1419-1432, 15 March 2025.
This study develops synthetic polycationic di‐block carriers for nucleic acid (NA) delivery in gene therapy. Consisting of a cationic block and a hydrophilic block, these carriers efficiently form complexes with NAs and shield them with a protective bioinert layer, enhancing stability during circulation in the bloodstream while reducing undesirable ...

Aging Process of Polyamidoamine Dendrimers: Effect of pH and Shaking in the Fluorescence Emission and Aggregation-State

open access: yes, 2020
In the last years, it has been discovered and intensely studied the non-traditional intrinsic fluorescence of PAMAM dendrimers. Nevertheless, their aging process in aqueous suspension is scarcely studied, being unknown the causes of the observed changes ...

A new class of polyphenolic carbosilane dendrimers binds human serum albumin in a structure-dependent fashion

open access: yesScientific Reports
The use of dendrimers as drug and nucleic acid delivery systems requires knowledge of their interactions with objects on their way to the target. In the present work, we investigated the interaction of a new class of carbosilane dendrimers functionalized

Energy Transfer in Nanodroplet‐Based Luminescent Solar Concentrators

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We present novel luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) featuring polymer composites with fluorescent dye‐doped oil nanodroplets. This liquid environment ensures high dye solubility and preserves fluorescence quantum yields, even at high local dye concentrations.
