#353 : Microfluidic Preparation of Spermatozoa: A Potential Approach in Assisted Reproductive Technology

open access: yesFertility & Reproduction, 2023
Background and Aims: While density gradient centrifugation (DGC) is a conventional method in sperm preparation, this method can induce reactive oxygen species (ROS) which cause sperm dysfunction, sperm DNA damage, a recent advancement in sperm processing

Density gradient centrifugation compromises bone marrow mononuclear cell yield. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMNCs) are widely used in regenerative medicine, but recent data suggests that the isolation of BMNCs by commonly used Ficoll-Paque density gradient centrifugation (DGC) causes significant cell loss and influences graft ...

Low-Density Granulocyte Contamination From Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells of Patients With Sepsis and How to Remove It – A Technical Report

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Elucidating the mechanisms contributing to the dysregulated host response to infection as part of the syndrome is a current challenge in sepsis research. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells are widely used in immunological studies.

Density-gradient centrifugation analysis of proteins included in the plasma sEV fraction.

open access: yes, 2022
The sEV fractions were prepared by ultracentrifugation from mouse plasma and further fractionated by Optiprep density-gradient centrifugation, which were subjected to Western blotting using antibodies against CD63, CD9 and GPIIIa. (EPS)

Density Gradient Centrifugation of Rubella Virus [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 1968
Rubella virus was centrifuged in sucrose density gradients. One of two densities could be ascribed to the virus, depending upon the suspending medium used. The virus was found at a density of 1.16 g/cm 3 after centrifugation for 18 hr in sucrose gradients prepared in distilled water.

An Advanced Protocol for the Quantification of Marine Sediment Viruses via Flow Cytometry

open access: yesViruses, 2021
Viruses are highly abundant, diverse, and active components of marine environments. Flow cytometry has helped to increase the understanding of their impact on shaping microbial communities and biogeochemical cycles in the pelagic zone.

Efficacy of density gradient centrifugation technique (DGC) in enhancing sperm cell DNA quality for assisted reproductive technique

open access: yesMiddle East Fertility Society Journal, 2022
Objective Density gradient centrifugation (DGC) is commonly used for sperm preparation before assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures. This technique separates superior motile spermatozoa with normal morphology from the total sperm population ...
