The Enzymology and Genetics of Dna Repair in Drosophila Melanogaster (Ap Endonucleases, Oregon-R, Mus(2)201, Cleavage Mechanisms). [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The work presented herein investigates the repair of apurinic/apyrimidinic (AP) sites in Drosophila melanogaster. Two different AP endonucleases were isolated differing in pH optima, reaction requirements, and associated activities.

Bovine Pancreatic Deoxyribonucleases A and C

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1973
Abstract Peptide maps obtained with tryptic-chymotryptic hydrolysates of bovine pancreatic DNases A, B, and C show a high degree of similarity. The map for DNase C, however, shows one peptide to have moved to a significantly less basic position. The peptide in question was isolated from hydrolysates of A and C and its sequence determined in each ...

Mammalian TatD DNase domain containing 1 (TATDN1) is a proteostasis‐responsive gene with roles in ventricular structure and neuromuscular function

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Twin‐arginine translocation D (TatD) homologs are found across all kingdoms, with debated roles in DNA degradation and protein quality control in unicellular organisms. We characterize TATDN1, the mammalian TatD orthologue, as a proteostatic stress‐responsive cytosolic protein dispensable for DNA degradation.

Salmonella Enteritidis–Induced Alteration of Inflammatory CXCL Chemokine Messenger-RNA Expression and Histologic Changes in the Ceca of Infected Chicks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
To understand better the events in early avian host immune responses to Salmonella Enteritidis (SE), we examined messenger-RNA (mRNA) expression for eight genes: CXCLi1[K60], CXCLi2 [IL-8/CAF], interferon (IFN)-gamma, interleukin (IL)-1beta, IL-6, IL ...

Capsular Type, Sequence Type and Microbial Resistance Factors Impact on DNase Activity of Streptococcus agalactiae Strains from Human and Bovine Origin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Extracellular deoxyribonucleases (DNases) contribute to the spread of pathogenic bacteria through the evasion from host innate immunity. Our main objective was to evaluate the production of extracellular DNases by human and bovine Streptococcus ...

Chronic Waterborne Exposure to Polystyrene Microplastics Induces Kupffer Cell Polarization Imbalance and Hepatic Lipid Accumulation

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 17, 15 September 2025.
Chronic Polystyrene Microplastic (PS‐MP) Exposure Drives Hepatic Steatosis via Dual Inflammatory and Metabolic Pathways. Chronic PS‐MP exposure in C57BL/6N mice induces hepatic lipid deposition and elevated body fat through M1‐polarized Kupffer cells, IL‐17A/NF‐κB activation, and impaired lipid homeostasis.

DNase I‐Mediated Chemotactic Nanoparticles for NETs Targeting and Microenvironment Remodeling Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 34, September 11, 2025.
The neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) play an important role in reperfusion injury in ischemic stroke. Here, considering the unique vascular localization of NETs, a DNase I‐mediated NETs‐targeting nanoparticle is developed to integrate the catalytic and chemotactic functions of DNase I and achieve the synergistic regulation of the internal and ...
