Depolarization increases cellular light transmission
Application of optical methods to human brain tissue in vivo, e.g., measuring oxyhemoglobin and deoxyhemoglobin concentration changes with near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), requires the a priori assumption that background optical properties remain ...

An all‐in‐fiber broadband polarization photodetector is demonstrated by integrating a PdSe2/2H‐MoTe2 van der Waals heterostructure onto a fiber endface. The device exhibits broadband response spanning 532 nm to 1630 nm, a fast response time of 59 µs, and a polarization ratio of 1.99. This work demonstrates a promising hardware strategy for polarization

Spin depolarization in semiconductor spin detectors
A brief review is given of our recent experimental results from in-depth investigations of spin depolarization and underlying physical mechanisms within semiconductor spin detectors based on II-VIs (e.g. Zn(Cd)Se quantum wells) and III-Vs (e.g.

Light Switchable Ionic Conductivity of Arylazopyrazole Modified Polysiloxanes
We present a polysiloxane functionalized with a novel arylazopyrazole dye that undergoes reversible photoisomerization. Upon lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide addition and UV irradiation, the polymer exhibits a shift in tan(d) toward higher frequencies and enhanced ionic conductivity.

Physically meaningful depolarization metric based on the differential Mueller matrix
International audienceWe present a novel depolarization metric for Mueller matrices based on the differential Mueller formalism. The proposed metric relies on the statistical interpretation of the differential Mueller matrix.

The depolarization factors for ellipsoids and some of their properties [PDF]
The terminology depolarization factors was firstly highlighted in the study of problems involving magnetic, where, it was initially used to describe magnetic properties of material.
