Deposition, diagenesis, and reservoir development of the Cretaceous Lidam formation, SE Sirt Basin, Libya. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This study concentrates on the deposition, diagenesis and reservoir characteristics of the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian) Lidam Formation. Core, petrography and geochemical data were studied from five wells (P3-97, N6-97, R1-97, 3V1-59E, and 3V3-59E) in ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Development of improved analysis of radionuclide images of aerosol deposition

open access: yes, 2008
Over the last few years, there has been an increase in the clinical methods targeting the human tracheobronchial tree, both for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.

A spatial pattern analysis of β-amyloid (Aβ) deposition in the temporal lobe in Alzheimer's disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
To determine the factors influencing the distribution of β-amyloid (Aβ) deposits in Alzheimer's disease (AD), the spatial patterns of the diffuse, primitive, and classic Aβ deposits were studied from the superior temporal gyrus (STG) to sector CA4 of the

Monolith formation and ring-stain suppression in low-pressure evaporation of poly(ethylene oxide) droplets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
When droplets of dilute suspensions are left to evaporate the final dry residue is typically the familiar coffee-ring stain, with nearly all material deposited at the initial triple line (Deegan et al, Nature, vol. 389, 1997, pp. 827-829).

Associations between NIH Toolbox Cognition Battery and in vivo brain amyloid and tau pathology in non‐demented older adults

open access: yesAlzheimer’s & Dementia: Diagnosis, Assessment & Disease Monitoring, 2020
Introduction The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Toolbox Cognition Battery (NIHTB‐CB) was developed to be a common assessment metric across a broad array of research studies.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Study on scanning pattern during Laser Metal Deposition Shaping

open access: yes, 2009
The fabrication of metal parts is the backbone of the modern manufacturing industry. Laser forming is the combination of five common technologies: lasers, rapid prototyping (RP), computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and powder
