A calculation model for liquid-liquid extraction of protactinium by 2,6-dimethyl-4-heptanol
Reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel usually employs the solvent extraction technique to recover fissile material, isolate other valuable radionuclides, recover precious metals, and remove contaminants.

R Package OBsMD for Follow-Up Designs in an Objective Bayesian Framework
Fractional factorial experiments often produce ambiguous results due to confounding among the factors; as a consequence more than one model is consistent with the data. Thus, the practical problem is how to choose additional runs in order to discriminate

Thickness controlled SiO2/TiO2 sol-gel coating by spraying
SiO2/TiO2 composite sol-gel coatings can be used in many industrial applications for their self-cleaning and photocatalytic properties. In this study, SiO2/TiO2 composite sol-gel coatings were deposited by spray coating as it allows a better thickness ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
