Suppression of the Immune Response Against Exogenous Desmoglein 3 in Desmoglein 3 Knockout Mice: An Implication for Gene Therapy [PDF]
Gene therapies for recessive genetic diseases may provoke unwanted immune responses against the introduced gene product because patients, especially those with null mutation of a certain protein, have no tolerance for the protein of interest. This study used desmoglein 3 knockout (Dsg3-/-) mice as a disease model for a genetic defect in DSG3, to ...

Prolonged Vancomycin‐Induced Linear IgA Disease in a Patient With Renal Failure
ABSTRACT A 64‐year‐old man with pneumococcal septic shock and subsequent renal failure underwent treatments with antibiotics including intravenous vancomycin (VCM). Blistering skin lesions appeared 10 days after the initiation of VCM. When the patient was transferred to us 5 months later, blisters with erythema were still observed on the abdomen and ...

A Comparative Analysis of the Peptide Repertoires of HLA–DR Molecules Differentially Associated With Rheumatoid Arthritis [PDF]
[Objective] To evaluate similarity of the peptide repertoires bound to HLA–DR molecules that are differentially associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and to define structural features of the shared peptides. [Methods] Peptide pools bound to HLA–

The study demonstrates that Interferon Induced Transmembrane Protein 1(IFITM1) is positively correlated with the expansion of corneal stem/epithelial transient amplifying (eTA) cells following corneal injury. This expansion is partly attributed to the inhibition of Ovo like zinc finger 1 (OVOL1), a negative regulator of epithelial cell proliferation ...

EVs were isolated from plasma of ME/CFS patients and healthy controls at baseline, and 15 min and 24 h postexercise. Untargeted proteomics revealed dysregulation in energy metabolism, the complement system, and the endoplasmic reticulum stress response. Changes in EV protein levels postexercise are associated with post‐exertional malaise.
