Mechanochemical SNAr on Phthalonitriles: Distinct Reactivity and Selectivity in One‐Pot Synthesis for Greener Phthalocyanines

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Mechanochemical nucleophilic aromatic substitution enables efficient, reproducible functionalization of phthalonitriles under minimal solvent conditions with high versatility. Integrating this process with solid‐state cyclotetramerization affords metalated and metal‐free phthalocyanines in a streamlined sustainable one‐pot workflow.
