Glomerular hemodynamics in experimental diabetes mellitus

open access: yesKidney International, 1981
Micropuncture studies were performed in three groups of euvolemic male Munich-Wistar rats: 8 control rats, 7 severely hyperglycemic rats made diabetic with streptozotocin (60 mg/kg, i.v.), and 6 moderately hyperglycemic rats made diabetic by the same method but given 2 U of NPH insulin daily.

VARIOUS FORMS OF EXPERIMENTAL DIABETES AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE FOR DIABETES MELLITUS [PDF]

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1910
In the short time allotted in this symposium to the study of experimental diabetes or glycosuria, I shall not of course attempt to give any general review of all the experimental conditions which may cause reducing substances to appear in the urine. It will be more profitable to devote the greater part of my time to a study of the simplest and best ...

The effect of self-efficacy and self-management training on efficacy and stress in diabetes mellitus patients

open access: yesMedisains, 2022
Background: Quality of life in patients with diabetes mellitus still tends to be low. This is caused by low self-efficacy and self-management and is followed by a condition that connects the two variables in the form of stress. Therefore, there is a need

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
