SAP-mediated inhibition of diacylglycerol kinase α regulates TCR-induced diacylglycerol signaling

open access: yes, 2011
Diacylglycerol kinases (DGKs) metabolize diacylglycerol to phosphatidic acid. In T lymphocytes, DGKα acts as a negative regulator of TCR signaling by decreasing diacylglycerol levels and inducing anergy.

Systems‐Level Plant Responses Reveal Pseudomonas‐Mediated Growth Promotion in Brachypodium Under Nitrogen Limitation

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant growth–promoting bacteria can enhance plant performance under nutrient limitation, yet the underlying plant molecular responses remain incompletely resolved. We investigated growth promotion by Pseudomonas koreensis in Brachypodium distachyon under contrasting nitrogen (N) regimes using time‐resolved phenotyping, elemental analysis ...

Diacylglycerol kinases: A look into the future of immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvances in Biological Regulation
Cancer still represents the second leading cause of death right after cardiovascular diseases. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer provoked around 10 million deaths in 2020, with lung and colon tumors accounting for the deadliest forms of cancer.

ACTH increases diacylglycerol content and subcellular redistribution of protein kinase C in the rat adrenal in vivo

open access: yes, 1987
Treatment of rats in vivo with ACTH provoked increases in whole adrenal contents of phosphatidylinositol and diacylglycerol. Concomitantly, C-kinase activity decreased in cytosol and increased stoichiometrically in the membrane fraction.

Alkyl analogs of diacylglycerol as activators of protein kinase C

open access: yes, 1987
Diacylglycerols which activate protein kinase C have the 1,2-sn configuration. Short-chain saturated fatty acids or long-chain unsaturated fatty acids are required for supporting the potency of these lipids.

TMEM16A channel signalling microdomains in the regulation of vascular function

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Schematic representation of TMEM16A channel signalling microdomains. Calcium influx or calcium release from the endoplasmic/sarcoplasmic reticulum (ER/SR) activates TMEM16A channels through interactions with regulatory proteins in vascular smooth muscle cells or endothelial cells. TMEM16A channel activation drives chloride efflux,

Diacylglycerol kinase activity in rat liver nuclei

open access: yes, 1994
Membrane-depleted rat liver nuclei contain diacylglycerol (DAG) kinase showing a specific activity which doubles that of the whole homogenate. In contrast, cytoplasmic and palsma membrane marker enyzmes attain a specific activity of 0.4% at the most ...

Cannabinoid exposure during pregnancy: Cardiorespiratory effects and offspring outcomes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Prenatal exposure to cannabinoids has been investigated across human and animal studies to understand its impact on physiological development. Evidence suggests that early‐life cannabinoid exposure influence multiple developmental processes, extending beyond neurodevelopmental outcomes to potentially affect placental function ...

Src-mediated activation of alpha-diacylglycerol kinase is required for hepatocyte growth factor-induced cell motility RID G-6323-2011

open access: yes, 2000
Diacylglycerol kinases are involved in cell signaling either as regulators of diacylglycerol levels or as intracellular signal-generating enzymes. However neither their role in signal transduction nor their biochemical regulation has been elucidated ...
