Diacylglycerol kinase (DGK)θ is a lipid kinase that phosphorylates diacylglycerol to form phosphatidic acid (PA). We have previously shown that PA is a ligand for the nuclear receptor steroidogenic factor 1 (SF1) and that cAMP-stimulated expression of ...

Association of diacylglycerol kinase ζ with protein kinase C α [PDF]
Activation of PKC depends on the availability of DAG, a signaling lipid that is tightly and dynamically regulated. DAG kinase (DGK) terminates DAG signaling by converting it to phosphatidic acid. Here, we demonstrate that DGKζ inhibits PKCα activity and that DGK activity is required for this inhibition.

Involvement of Ca2+ channels in boldine‐induced vascular relaxation. ABSTRACT The regulation of vascular tone plays a fundamental role in blood pressure homeostasis and still represents a significant challenge in clinical practice. Boldine, a naturally occurring alkaloid from Peumus boldus, has emerged as a compound of interest due to its therapeutic ...

Enhanced histamine-induced itch in diacylglycerol kinase iota knockout mice.
Subsets of small-diameter dorsal root ganglia (DRG) neurons detect pruritogenic (itch-causing) and algogenic (pain-causing) stimuli and can be activated or sensitized by chemical mediators.

REGULATION OF DIACYLGLYCEROL KINASE THETA
Diacylglycerol (DAG) and phosphatidic acid are important signaling molecules involved in numerous signaling pathways. The diacylglycerol kinases (DGKs) are particularly poised to regulate the cellular levels of these two lipids. Although interest in these enzymes is increasing, information regarding their regulation at a molecular level is scarce ...

Diacylglycerol Kinases in T Cell Tolerance and Effector Function [PDF]
Diacylglycerol kinases (DGKs) are a family of enzymes that regulate the relative levels of diacylglycerol (DAG) and phosphatidic acid (PA) in cells by phosphorylating DAG to produce PA. Both DAG and PA are important second messengers cascading T cell receptor (TCR) signal by recruiting multiple effector molecules, such as RasGRP1, PKCθ, and mTOR ...

Pik3r1 Is Required for Glucocorticoid-Induced Perilipin 1 Phosphorylation in Lipid Droplet for Adipocyte Lipolysis. [PDF]
Glucocorticoids promote lipolysis in white adipose tissue (WAT) to adapt to energy demands under stress, whereas superfluous lipolysis causes metabolic disorders, including dyslipidemia and hepatic steatosis. Glucocorticoid-induced lipolysis requires the

The Use of Synaptic Extracellular Myo‐Inositol to Treat Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy
ABSTRACT Objective The developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEE) are associated with serious and lifelong neurological conditions and risk of early mortality. Here, we describe the chronic treatment of a boy with PLCB1‐related DEE with enteral myo‐inositol supplementation as an add‐on therapy to standard antiseizure medications that had been ...
