Abstract Nanoparticles are being utilized in agriculture as fertilizers, pesticides, and agrochemical‐carriers. Designed to be biocompatible and degradable, biopolymer nanoparticles were developed as an alternative to metallic nanoparticles, and though safe‐by‐design, polymeric nanoparticles must be field‐tested prior to largescale use.

ABC transporters have been suggested to be involved in insecticide detoxification mainly based on the finding of transcriptional upregulation in response to insecticide exposure. We performed gene expression analysis in combination with RNAi studies in Tribolium castaneum and identified two pleiotropic ABCC transporters, which are involved in the ...

TGF-β receptor levels regulate the specificity of signaling pathway activation and biological effects of TGF-β [PDF]
TGF-β is a pluripotent cytokine that mediates its effects through a receptor composed of TGF-β receptor type II (TGFBR2) and type I (TGFBR1). The TGF-β receptor can regulate Smad and nonSmad signaling pathways, which then ultimately dictate TGF-β's ...

Pesticide and pesticide adjuvant treatments are applied on almonds as mixtures. Common treatments were converted from acre‐sized field application rates to Petri dish–sized rates and applied as a spray on honey bees using a Potter Spray Tower. Results from acute toxicity assays were related back to field exposure in California almonds.
