Evaluation of bovine leukaemia virus infection control measures in Japanese Black beef cattle breeding farms: A 7‐year longitudinal study based on proviral load

open access: yesVeterinary Record Open, Volume 13, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract Background Bovine leukaemia virus (BLV) infection remains a major problem for Japanese Black (Wagyu) cattle, and effective and sustainable control measures are essential to prevent its spread in breeding herds. This study aimed to monitor the BLV infection status of all cattle at a Japanese Black breeding farm in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan ...

The study of the properties of the novel virucidal disinfectant

open access: yesAgricultural Science and Practice, 2016
Prevention measures are crucial in actual production, whereas the outbreak of a disease requires immediate detection and elimination of the source of infection as well as complex veterinary and sanitary measures.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE RECOMBINANT POSITIVE CONTROLS OF BOVINE VIRAL DIARRHEA VIRUS 1 AND 2 FOR PCR ASSAY

open access: yesMicrobiology&Biotechnology, 2013
Aim. The method of amplifying and cloning the Erns gene of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus was developed to obtain the positive controls for polymerase chain reaction. Methods. The strains used in this study were BVDV-1b (Ossloss) and BVDV-2 (Kosice). Viral RNA was extracted by the silica-based extraction method.

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 1000-1019, May 2026.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Safe and Localized Lentiviral Gene Delivery via Injectable Mesoporous Scaffolds for Potent Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
This work introduces an injectable mesoporous silica rod scaffold that confines lentiviral vectors to the injection site, enabling localized dendritic cell recruitment and transduction. The platform sustains antigen expression, promotes robust T‐cell activation, and enhances antitumor immunity.

Real-Time Detection of a Virus Using Detection Dogs

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2016
Viral infections are ubiquitous in humans, animals, and plants. Real-time methods to identify viral infections are limited and do not exist for use in harsh or resource-constrained environments.

A novel case of autosomal recessive CARD11 loss‐of‐function underlying impaired antiviral immunity and a review of literature

open access: yesClinical &Translational Immunology, Volume 15, Issue 5, 2026.
We report on a patient homozygous for a novel autosomal recessive loss‐of‐function CARD11 variant, with susceptibility to live attenuated virus (LAV) vaccines and impaired clearance of multiple naturally acquired respiratory viral infections. Inborn errors of immunity affecting the CARD11‐BCL10‐MALT1 (CBM) complex should be considered in individuals ...

Complete Genome Sequence of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus 2 Japanese Reference and Vaccine Strain KZ-91CP

open access: yesGenome Announcements, 2015
ABSTRACT In this study, we report the complete genome sequence of the bovine viral diarrhea virus 2 Japanese reference strain KZ-91CP. The complete genome comprises 12,654 nucleotides and one open reading frame with 4,020 amino acids. A 369-nucleotide-long insertion encoding the chaperone protein DnaJ is found in the nonstructural 2 (NS2 ...

miR‐146a/b‐5p‐IRAK1‐NF‐κB Axis Regulates Unexplained Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Recognition, Volume 39, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA) remains a prevalent obstetric issue, the underlying causes of which are still not fully understood. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have the potential to influence URSA through their regulation of gene expression.
