LncRNA Foxo6os as a Novel “ Scaffold” Mediates MYBPC3 in Combating Pathological Cardiac Hypertrophy and Heart Failure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic overview showing that forkhead box O6, opposite strand (Foxo6os) acts as a “scaffold”, directly binding myosin‐binding protein‐C (MYBPC3) and recruiting protein kinase C (PKC‐α) to mediate site‐specific phosphorylation of MYBPC3. This post‐translational modification supports cardiac contraction by regulating L‐type Ca2+ channels, especially ...

Monoclonal antibody analyses of cytopathic and noncytopathic viruses from fatal bovine viral diarrhea virus infections [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 1988
A panel of monoclonal antibodies that recognize the two major glycoproteins of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BDV) was used to evaluate the antigenic relationship between cytopathic (CP) and noncytopathic (NCP) viruses isolated from cattle dead or dying from fatal BDV infections.

A multiplex real-time fluorescence-based quantitative PCR assay for calf diarrhea viruses

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
IntroductionCalf diarrhea is a significant condition that has a strong effect on the cattle industry, resulting in huge economic losses annually. Bovine torovirus (BToV), bovine enterovirus (BEV), bovine norovirus (BNoV), bovine coronavirus (BCoV ...

Influenza Viral Manipulation of Sphingolipid Metabolism and Signaling to Modulate Host Defense System

open access: yesScientifica, 2014
Viruses attempt to create a distinctive cellular environment to favor viral replication and spread. Recent studies uncovered new functions of the sphingolipid signaling/metabolism during pathogenic virus infections.

Evidence of shared bovine viral diarrhea infections between red deer and extensively raised cattle in south-central Spain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is a pestivirus that affects cattle production worldwide and that can infect other ungulates such as cervids and even wild boar (Sus scrofa).

Alternative Models for Anticancer Drug Discovery From Natural Products Using Binary Tumor‐Microenvironment‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a binary tumor‐microenvironment‐on‐a‐chip (T‐MOC) system incorporating multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTs) as an alternative preclinical platform to evaluate the efficacy of anticancer natural products. The T‐MOC model reproduces in vivo drug delivery barriers and physiological conditions, enabling morphological analysis to predict

Co-existence of bovine viral diarrhea and border disease viruses in a sheep flock suffering from abortus and diarrhea

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF VETERINARY AND ANIMAL SCIENCES, 2017
Pestivirus infections have a huge economic impact on livestock production. In 2014, an aborted fetus from a sheep flock suffering from abortus and diarrhea was submitted for virological diagnosis. Due to the positive result of the sample for pestivirus and continuing clinical symptoms in the flock, all of the animals were sampled individually.

Acute viral gastroenteritis in children hospitalized in Iksan, Korea during December 2010-June 2011 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
PurposeViral etiology is common in cases of children with acute diarrhea, and antibiotic therapy is usually not required. Therefore, it is important to determine the distribution of common viruses among children hospitalized with acute diarrhea.MethodsWe

Hsa_circ_0026782 Acts as a “Molecular Break” of CREB1‐Mediated Transcription by Promoting Its Phosphorylation at Ser142 That Prevents Keloid Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Model for the role of hsa_circ_0026782/p‐CREB1 (Ser142) played in keloid. Hsa_circ_0026782 is derived from back‐splicing of ITGA7 exon 4. When hsa_circ_0026782 binds to CREB1, the exposure of the bZIP domain and dimerization of CREB1 are promoted (upper left).

Neurophilic Biomimetic Lipoprotein‐Mediated Targeted Nerve Growth Factor Delivery for Traumatic Brain Injury Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Design of neurophilic biomimetic lipoprotein for intracerebral delivery of nerve growth factor (NGF) to traumatic brain injury (TBI). Nc‐rHDL@P can cross the BBB through ApoE3‐receptors interaction and target neurons via αRDP‐nAChR interaction. Nc‐rHDL@P delivers NGF to the lesion sites, rescues neurons, curbs inflammation, boosts sensorimotor and ...
