Abstract Bedaquiline (BDQ) is a drug used to treat multidrug‐resistant tuberculosis (MDR‐TB). It exhibits exposure‐dependent efficacy in eliminating Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). An easy, efficient and precise reverse‐phase ultrafast liquid chromatography (RP‐UFLC) method was developed to validate the free base of the antitubercular medication BDQ.

TBAJ-587, a novel diarylquinoline, is active against Mycobacterium abscessus
ABSTRACT Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infections are extremely difficult to treat due to a natural resistance to many antimicrobials. TBAJ-587 is a novel diarylquinoline, which shows higher anti-tuberculosis activity, lower lipophilicity, and weaker inhibition of hERG channels than bedaquiline ...

The Diarylquinoline R207910 Is Bactericidal against Mycobacterium leprae in Mice at Low Dose and Administered Intermittently [PDF]
ABSTRACT The diarylquinoline R207910 is profoundly bactericidal in a murine model of tuberculosis. Previously, R207910 was also found to be bactericidal for Mycobacterium leprae -infected mice during lag phase.

Abstract Background The rapid development of cosmetic injections has led to an increased incidence of nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infection. Patients and Methods Here, we presented a case of cutaneous Mycobacterium abscessus infection subsequent to botulinum toxin injection for treating masseter hypertrophy, and reviewed the literature on skin ...

Abstract This study aimed to assess the safety, pharmacokinetics, and food impact on sudapyridine (WX‐081), a novel drug designed to inhibit mycobacterium ATP synthase, with clinical applications for drug‐resistant tuberculosis (TB) treatment. The research comprised two arms: a single ascending dose (SAD) arm (30 to 600 mg, N = 52) and a multiple ...

Diarylquinoline TMC207 as potential new therapy for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis [PDF]
TMC207 is an investigational diarylquinoline which inhibits mycobacterial ATP synthase in drug-sensitive and drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis in vitro. It is bactericidal to dormant tubercle bacilli, therefore offering a new mechanism for the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis: immune response, biomarkers, and therapeutic intervention
Currently, controlling the source of infection, interrupting transmission pathways, and protecting susceptible populations are key measures in tackling MTB infection. However, preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions for TB are also important in reducing the burden of the disease. First, in terms of preventing MTB infection, the Bacillus
