Dietary Fiber in Brewed Coffee
Coffee beans are rich in nondigestible polysaccharides (dietary fiber), which may partially pass into brewed coffee; however, to the authors' knowledge, there is not enough literature on dietary fiber in brewed coffee. A specific method to determine dietary fiber in beverages (enzymatic treatment plus dialysis) was applied to the coffees brewed by the ...

FABP4 as a Mediator of Lipid Metabolism and Pregnant Uterine Dysfunction in Obesity
Obesity during late pregnancy contributes to uterine smooth muscle dysfunction, but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. This study identifies fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4) as a key player in the process, mediating excessive fatty acid uptake, lipid accumulation, and mitochondrial dysfunction in myometrial cells. FABP4 could be a novel uterine

Weight Cycling Deregulates Eating Behavior in Mice via the Induction of Durable Gut Dysbiosis
Weight cycling in Humans is suspected to dysregulate eating behavior. Mice submitted to body weight cycling by alternating western‐type and regular chow diets display increased hedonic appetite when exposed to a palatable diet, reminiscent of binge‐eating episodes.

Long Term High‐Salt Diet Induces Cognitive Impairments via Down‐Regulating SHANK1
The study identifies a novel mechanistic link between long‐term HS diet and cognitive impairment, wherein PKA/CREB axis inactivation leads to SHANK1 reduction, synaptic damage, and cognitive deficits. Abstract High‐salt (HS) diet is an established risk factor for cognitive impairment, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.
