Comprehensive models of diffuse interstellar clouds - Physical conditions and molecular abundances

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series, 1986
The limitations of steady state models of interstellar clouds are explored by means of comparison with observational data corresponding to clouds in front of Zeta Per, Zeta Oph, Chi Oph, and Omicron Per. The improved cloud models were constructed to reproduce the observed H and H2(J) column densities for several lines of sight. The main difference from

A Covalent 3D CNT@rGO Nano‐Hybrid for High‐Efficiency Conductivity in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A facile one‐step CVD strategy achieves high‐yield (7692.31%) growth of CNTs on rGO, forming a covalently bonded 3D CNT@rGO hybrid. This structure enables multidirectional conductive networks in LiFePO4 cathodes, delivering superior rate performance, high ICE (99.88%), and 96.32% capacity retention after 300 cycles at 1 C.

Nanoscale Mapping of the Subcellular Glycosylation Landscape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using multiplexed super‐resolution imaging with fluorophore‐labeled lectins, this study reports intracellular glycosylation at the nanoscale across organelles and synaptic specializations. Extending glycan analysis beyond the cell surface, Glyco‐STORM reveals distinct glycosylation nanodomains in the ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and synaptic sites.

First Detection of Molecular Gas in the Giant Low Surface Brightness Galaxy Malin 1

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
After over three decades of unsuccessful attempts, we report the first detection of molecular gas emission in Malin 1, the largest spiral galaxy observed to date, and one of the most iconic giant low surface brightness galaxies.

Hyperelastic Starch Hydrogel Configures Edible and Biodegradable All‐Components for Soft Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hyperelastic starch hydrogel is tailored via a phase separation strategy of solvent‐antisolvent co‐modulation. The mechanical performance of starch hydrogel is widely tuned with maximum strains: 194.4–361.4%; maximum tensile stresses: 34–192 kPa; and Young's moduli: 36.0–205.8 kPa. Notably, the hydrogel achieves complete soil degradation within 24 days

Gas-phase Oxygenation and Sulfurization Processes of Fullerene Cations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Atomic oxygen and sulfur are known to efficiently react with fullerenes and may thus form a long list of oxygenated and sulfurated fullerene species in the interstellar medium (ISM).

Dysfunctional TRIM31 of POMC Neurons Provokes Hypothalamic Injury and Peripheral Metabolic Disorder under Long‐Term Fine Particulate Matter Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM2.5) elevates risks of neurological and chronic metabolic diseases, but the underlying mechanisms linking PM2.5‐induced central nervous system (CNS) injury to metabolic dysfunction remain unclear. Hypothalamic pro‐opiomelanocortin‐expressing (POMC+) neurons regulate systemic metabolic homeostasis, and tripartite motif ...

Cinnamic‐Hydroxamic‐Acid Derivatives Exhibit Antibiotic, Anti‐Biofilm, and Supercoiling Relaxation Properties by Targeting Bacterial Nucleoid‐Associated Protein HU

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cinnamic‐hydroxamic‐acid derivatives (CHADs) are identified as novel inhibitors of the bacterial nucleoid‐associated protein HU, exhibiting potent antibacterial, anti‐biofilm (both inhibition and eradication), and DNA relaxation (anti‐supercoiling) activities. Moreover, CHADs demonstrate strong synergistic effects with multiple antibiotics.

The Gas-phase Nitridation Processes of Fullerene Cations in the Interstellar Medium

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The chemical evolution of fullerene molecules is an important and interesting topic in astrochemistry. In this work, the coevolution processes occurring in fullerene cations ([C _60 ] ^+ and [C _58/56 ] ^+ ) in response to ultraviolet radiation and N ...
