Nutritional value of high fiber co-products from the copra, palm kernel, and rice industries in diets fed to pigs. [PDF]
High fiber co-products from the copra and palm kernel industries are by-products of the production of coconut oil and palm kernel oil. The co-products include copra meal, copra expellers, palm kernel meal, and palm kernel expellers. All 4 ingredients are

Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Abstract Since the beginning of 1998, Annales de Chirurgie and Lyon Chirurgical have merged into one French language surgical journal. Numbers 1, 2 and 3 of 1998 result from this cooperative collaboration. A reciprocal digest written by our European Editor, Mr Colin Johnson, is published in the French journal.

Mathematical Homogenization in the Modelling of Digestion in the Small Intestine [PDF]
Digestion in the small intestine is the result of complex mechanical and biological phenomena which can be modelled at different scales. In a previous article, we introduced a system of ordinary differential equations for describing the transport and degradation-absorption processes during the digestion.

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Bayesian hierarchical reconstruction of protein profiles including a digestion model [PDF]
Introduction : Mass spectrometry approaches are very attractive to detect protein panels in a sensitive and high speed way. MS can be coupled to many proteomic separation techniques. However, controlling technological variability on these analytical chains is a critical point.

Cereal non-starch polysaccharides in pig diets [PDF]
This thesis is based on three different studies comprising the weaning and the growing period, aiming at monitoring the influence of cereal non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) and dietary enzyme supplementation on gastro-intestinal processes in pigs.

Multi-scale structure, pasting and digestibility of adlay (Coixlachryma-jobi L.) seed starch [PDF]
peer-reviewedThe hierarchical structure, pasting and digestibility of adlay seed starch (ASS) were investigated compared with maize starch (MS) and potato starch (PS).

B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...
