Observability and Identifiability Analyses of Process Models for Agricultural Anaerobic Digestion Plants [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Dynamic operation of anaerobic digestion plants requires advanced process monitoring and control. Different simplifications of the Anaerobic Digestion Model No. 1 (ADM1) have been proposed recently, which appear promising for model-based process automation and state estimation.

Mathematical Modeling of Transport and Degradation of Feedstuffs in the Small Intestine [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Theoretical Biology 294 (2012) 114-121, 2011
We describe a mathematical modeling of the digestion in the small intestine. The main interest of our work is to consider, at the same time, different aspects of the digestion i.e. the transport of the bolus all along the intestine, feedstuffs degradation according to the enzymes and local physical conditions, and nutrients absorption.

Global analysis of a simplified model of anaerobic digestion and a new result for the chemostat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A. Bornh\"oft, R. Hanke-Rauschenbach, and K. Sundmacher, [Nonlinear Dyn., 73 (2013), pp. 535-549] introduced a qualitative simplification to the ADM1 model for anaerobic digestion. We obtain global results for this model by first analyzing the limiting system, a model of single species growth in the chemostat in which the response function is non ...

Roles of the CXCL8-CXCR1/2 Axis in the Tumor Microenvironment and Immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
In humans, Interleukin-8 (IL-8 or CXCL8) is a granulocytic chemokine with multiple roles within the tumor microenvironment (TME), such as recruiting immunosuppressive cells to the tumor, increasing tumor angiogenesis, and promoting epithelial-to ...
