Detection of cholesterol by digitonin conjugated gold nanoparticles
, 2011 Functionalized colloidal gold is widely used for qualitative and quantitative detection of specific analytes. We report here a novel modification of gold nanoparticles by digitonin, a glycoside used for precipitating membrane cholesterol.

Permeabilization of yeast cells (Kluyveromyces fragilis) to lactose by digitonin
, 1989 Kluyveromyces fragilis, the lactose-fermenting yeast, was made permeable to the disaccharide lactose using the surfactant digitonin. Optimal beta-galactosidase activity was observed when the cells were treated with 0.1% digitonin at room temp. for 30 min.

The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Medicine, 1986 Out of 225 specimences taken from nasal, Vaginal, eye swabs, milk synovial fluid and from internal organsof horses. Twelve isolates were recovered as follows 9 isolates from nasal swabs, 3 isolates from vaginal swabs.
